Had the car out for a cruise Sunday and it was 103 degrees with high humidity. Kinda Brutal. :eek2:

I took mine to work again yesterday, big mistake.  It was pushing 100 out there and having a black vinyl top did not help!  I need to fix my a/c before I do that again!

Take lots of water with you when you leave guys!

While I could probably have dealt with the heat, I am afraid my 69 will not and so I take the econobox again this year.   :'(  She got hot, really hot really quickly while in our towns 4th parade over the weekend.   :P

Still not as bad as my first year there 2yrs ago.. It was 105 on sat IIRC..  :eek2:

As much as I'd love to come, I'm not gonna make Carlisle this year. Just got way too many irons in the fire.  :'(

I just saw in another thread that your engine gets really really hot.  What gives?  Do you have one of those notorious waterpump housings or are the passages blocked?

I think its something with the carb. After it heats up over 230 (indicated) it ends up idling at like 2.3k almost like the choke is stuck. Bliping the throttle doesn't change it. When I set the idle jets I had to dial them way out to get it to idle smooth and I didn't think that was cool but for the time being it was happy.

When I was selling some parts at Englishtown's Raceway Park about 25 years ago, we had heat hovering in the mid 90's one year. I took a break from selling, wandered around the swap meet & saw a vendor scoop a handful of ice out of his cooler, fill his hat & put it on. I laughed & asked how well that worked & he said it was as good as air conditioning. When I got back to my vending space I did the same thing with my hat & put ice in it. I have to admit, it definitely worked & it felt good.

If you don't have a hat you can always use bungee cords to strap the cooler to your head, but that usually makes the show car owners nervous when you lean over to look under the hood.   :o

Car trailer.......check

Throwing caution to the wind and just going for it....Priceless

Don, car trailer...check...that's a good thing.  :2thumbs: You will have a great ride down. I wouldn't be hanging out in the "T" very long though...it's going to be boiling in there. Our club tent will be perfect for this year, glad we did it.

I'm leaving at 5:00 am tomorrow morning to try to beat the heat. I'm leaving the Charger home this year..... I will be driving the AAR and I will tell you that is one hot car to ride in. Black interior and no tinted glass. It's like riding in a pressure cooker when the sun is blazing. :fireangry: I Will be at the CVD car show Thursday night and I will be stopping by the DC tent on Saturday afternoon for the photo shoot.

Same in my car at 3pm. Went to 106 shortly there after. Ended up leaving as the heat was too much even with the breeze. Headed north on 81 and it didn't drop below 100 until mile marker 100,  By 120 it had dropped to 97 and 87 by marker 150 (Hazleton).   :eek2:
