I don't mind the attention and questions.  I'm 27 now and bought my '68 two years ago, so most of the comments I get are, "So your dad let you take out his car, huh?"

Holy cow congrats bro.....at 27 wow.

I'm far from being a Social Flower and all , but I've actually conversed with folks at the Gas Stations at times. Other times I peer out thru the Gas Station windows and wait til the crowd disperses.

Just for alittle perspective I'm 22 and absolutly none of my friends are into cars. Throughout my whole life I've felt quite misunderstood, or better yet not understood at all. Mopar whats that?? I would love for people to show interest in my passion it would make me feel less like a freak.

:nana:  Not a freak, although maybe I do not know, more likely eccentric and unique.  :smilielol: :smilielol: :slap:

Good grief they made some 500k 57 Chevy 2 door hard tops as I recall, look it up vague range of 12k-15k 57 conv's, just compared to the 57 chevy conv's that's like 1/7th all the Chargers built in 69.  They are uncommon at most shows for me (the past 25yrs), I am usually the only 69 frankly and out running around that is a great part of why I like them so much.  Friends? it is a hobby, actually most of my friends are not Charger guys, come to think of it, at mid life it does seem most of my friends are car people though :scratchchin: :-\

Now your friends not into cars, they needed some help clearly I think :shruggy: IMO.

its been awhile since i was on the road with my charger and people did come up to talk and it did get old after a while......but you never know when someone comes up to you and says  { my neighbor has a car  that looks just like yours] just sitting in his barn for years... GAME ON

Strangest one for me was a guy telling me in a small eastern washington town after seeing my primer '67 Charger that his brother had one that looked exactly like it except it was a convertible and a '69 model year, and he knows because he was there when his brother drove it off the lot.

Most interesting one was at a gas station in town driving my mauve '66 Charger. A guy comes over (as some do) and said he used to have a Charger like it. I started asking him about his car and he said it was light blue, with a blue interior, original 318 car with a 383 in it and that he drove it towing a trailer behind it from some other town up to Spokane. I said, that's interesting, because that sounds exactly like the blue on blue '66 Charger 383 (original 318) car I have at home with the holes drilled under the back for the trailer hitch.

Funnest one was driving down the freeway out in the 70-80 mph areas outside the city in the primer '67 Charger and coming up behind a pickup with a couple younger boys riding in the bed. Huge smiles on their faces as I'd race up behind the truck and then back off a bit and race back up at speed. And then I backed off a bit and as they exited the freeway I really got on it and rocketed by.

It was stock, but I sold it in 2004.
