And then this one.  My search for a purple '70 Charger led me to this one.  Factory go wing, v code, 4 gear, 4:10 Dana car.  According to Govier, last six pack '70 Bee & second to last Bee overall.

Nice car 472, would have been hard to part with that most likely. A mate of mine out here has a FK7 4 speed 70 Coronet  but with the standard stripe, fairly similar to yours, quite a striking looking car, and there is only a handful around.
I quite like them but my Wife hates them  ;D was 3rd on the choice list after 68 or 70 R/T Charger

I don't know why it never struck me until now, but the taillights on the 70 strongly echo the 68 ones.  Actually you can draw the line from the 66 version to 67 first.  The 69 is the only odd one out.

That's true, I haven't ever thought about it either. 69 is the odd one out, especially the R/T & 500 version, odd but coolest in my book.

While not a Super Bee, below is a picture of my buddie's old 70 Coronet R/T convertible. Please excuse the puddle splashes on the sides and bug splats on the grille & windshield as it had just came back from a 500 mile drive.

The picture was taken in his garage at night with the lights off and it always looked it's best when photographed this way.

Heres one nice 70 RT Coronet, from Brockers Beauty's in Newcastle, NorCal, original 440 4bbl car, has none original six pack, he's had it for a couple of years "at least now", so I think the price of $27,950 would be very negotiable, it was $34k in 2009 & maybe $39k in 2008 I think it was... I haven't seen it for quite a while, so I can't verify condition...

Looks like my buddy's car.  The car was painted when he got it.  He just brought it up to a new level.  Painted the undercarriage, etc.

He won "Best of Show" at our Mopar Nationals so the car will be on this year's t-shirt.

Ghoste

I can see why he won Mike, that car is gorgeous!

When driving you really notice how tall the bulge is.

Yeah, I know.  One of the few Aussie words I know.

Like I said, when driving or passengers' the scoop looks huge from behind.  That's why when it comes to looks the '70 Coronet bulge hood is one of my favorite.  It's so so until you look at it from the back & then it's like, "HOLY SHIT, this is COOL!".  That is to me anyways.   :Twocents: :Twocents:

Is the '70 Coronet the only year that the stripper (Bee) & higher end (R/T) model have different tail lights?

I don't know the Plymouths' too well but are the RR & GTX tail lights the same within the same year throughout production?

GOTWING

some may agree, i do not like how they used a "66 charger" style 383 badge on the fenders, they should have put the 383 magnum ones on the bulge hood like the challengers etc and the superbee hood emblem on the fender or leave it off the car, it just seems like a out of place idea on this car :eek2: one mine i had i did just that i put the 440 six pack emblems on the bulge of the hood.

No on both.  Can't say for sure on the 68 Dodge but 69 they are different.  On the Plymouth, the RR and GTX are different 68 thru 71.  Grilles and interiors are different too.  Essentially the Super Bee got 440 level trim and the RT's have 500 level trim.  Road Runners have Belvedere stuff and after the Road Runner came out, the GTX was moved to the Satellite trim level.  There are some variations in there I believe but that covers a lot of it.

Pretty much covers it...  :2thumbs: especially for 68-70 RR & GTX, the 71 & latter the RR, GTX & Sports Satellite or even Satellite Sebrings were very close to each other, with engine differences & with minor badging, interior & trim appointments etc...
