makes the ad looks more feasible including a dana 60 rear. there is only one reason someone would sell tags and a title.. someone should record the VIN..  :slap:   :rotz:

That's why I posted the ad with the VIN tag pic, to keep a record of it. The auction will end, or be reported & pulled, so if it disappears it may go off the radar. In the future some less informed Charger nut may end up with a car that isn't what they thought it was & lose a ton of money. I don't like it when I see this stuff for sale, it screams VIN tag swap. I know a handful of people are diligent about saving VIN info, so here it is.

I've never paid much attention to the numbers on my own cars so I sure won't remember this one next week.

GOTWING

Reminds me of my B5 70 Challenger S/E 318 car i had, previous owner before me painted it plum crazy put on a new black vinyl top put a nice built 400 in it and R/T hood 8-3/4 rear etc ,I ended up painting and putting a rear valance on it from a wrecked 70 R/T Challenger with cut outs, the car looked R/T without the badging, after a few years of ownership i sold it , lost track of it, well 10-12 years later i see it at our local drag strip, U.S. 13 in Delmar in the pits, i was like wow as im looking at it i notice it has a U code in the dash vin, R/T emblems ( wich is fine) i just never did it. so i see the guy and say hey nice Challenger, a 440 car huh? yep he says. I said that's funny because when i owned it it had a "G" for 318, he said impossible, so i started asking him more questions and pushed the issue a little bit telling him listen guy this was my car, he ended up admitting he swaped out the entire dash pad. I just thought to myself why?? what's the point. :brickwall:

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Doesn't this thread somewhat answer the question from the other thread of 'How much more is an R/T worth?' :) :)

An R/T is always more desirable, but worth...that was the question.

Yeah, $2200 apparently :)

I had a guy in Tampa try and sell me the tags of his totally gone '68 while I was there to look at seats.   He wanted $3K for the whole car or $1500 for just the tags.   Sad part is it was originally a Silver '68 4-Speed R/T 440 car.  Fairly rare, but it was so bad it would take a rebody or 30K in AMD to put it back on the road.
