Can you replace an outer wheel house WITHOUT removing the quarter panel?

I know what your thinking....why would anyone need to do that?  :scratchchin:

Here's the story; I did a "speed resto" in '03, basically I had 6 months to finish the entire car before the Air Force moved me from AK to VA. Well, I did it (came out good too) but had to cut some corners here and there and one was the drivers Wheel House (WH). I don't recall them being available and if there were, I didn't have time to wait for it to be shipped up to AK so we just patched it up and installed the replacement 1/4.

Well I'll be looking to do things right here soon and replace the WH I know is patched together, but the replacement 1/4 panel is nice and solid, don't want to mess with it if I don't have too...any way to change that WH without molesting the 1/4 panel???

Honestly bud..why bother? The cars together and running, and as long as you sealed up that area youll be fine....yes its not the best but id leave it alone  :shruggy:

AKcharger

Good question...this next resto will be the "final" resto, don't want to worry about that area rusting out in 15 years or so

FLG

Bill, you might want to look at getting that memory fixed first

;D

If its still holding up after 5 years, i think you should just leave it.

AKcharger

Well now I feel stupid  :loser:...I don't recall that post at all (stupid alzhimers) at least I'm consistent using the same pics.

OK, got my answer, let this post die...move along folks...move along

Not to be a smarta$$ (ok, maybe a little) but it looks like the amount of work you did to patch it up is about the same as it would have been to replace it.

AKcharger

You're right, but it was a time and availability issue...I had precious little of both

Leave it be, looks good and if you used epoxy, then good seam sealer I would not worry bout it!  :2thumbs:
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.
