Hello, could some one who has Super bee hood on 3gen Charger to measure couple measurements?

I would like to know how much there is room from 400 block to insert. Maybe best way would be measure from spot where valley tray is installed?

Also I would like to know how long way is from block to top of the hood (same level as hood).

Because I'm thinking how tall intake I can use and also thinking to make somekind of custom "shaker hood"-insert.

I found this photo from 1971-1974 Dodge Charger.com and it has helped me a lot to see where the hole is, so that I can think where the air cleaner should be.

Can't answer exactly but my 71 r/t 440 has the edelbrock rpm intake and a three inch standard open element air cleaner, if I fit a 1/2 inch spacer the filter just touches the insert at the rear. Your 400 will have more clearance.

Thanks for the info! i've been running the Edelbrock Performer (standard) for years because I wasn't sure if the RPM would give me the proper clearance under the bulge hood. now I can finally snag me one of those bad boys!

That won't help me much, how tall is that kind of combination? Edelbrock rpm intake + 1/2 inch spacer + carburetor + air cleaner?

Could somebody help me and measure clearance under the insert and to same level with hole?

Wish I could. I have no idea how to give you a "proper" measurement. always did suck at math... :shruggy:

That is okay. I decided intake already and I should have no problems with that and if I have then it means just some customization. Thanks anyway!

When motor is in engine room I will measure and post it here. =)
