Hey everyone,
I need some advise from Guy's that did this stuff. I replaced some of the front and rear floor pan's as well as the trunk. I have the car already media blasted and epoxy primed prior to fixing floor's/trunk. I welded in sheet medal and have the small scar's underneath and inside of car. I want them gone, like the floors/trunk were never touched. It was recommended to use Gorilla Hair, then Plastic and finally primer and paint. The underneath needs to be perfect as it will be painted and clearcoated.

Can you Guy's give me the advise I need to make the right decision going foward. :scratchchin:

Thanks,
Joe C NY

When you say scars do you mean visible joints after a butt welded patch ? Is so grind it down prime, filler, seal it.

Joe, do you have any pictures of these "scars"?   :shruggy:  I'm having trouble figuring this out as well.

charger_fan pretty much has is spelled out if you have butt-welded in patches. Grind them smooth on the bottom, use a good waterproof filler first such as fiberglass or All-Metal, do some finish plastic, prime & paint. Just like doing an outside panel. No different.

This is when the AMD parts are forgiving. Since the join at the factory spots no finishing. More $$ upfront, but atleast you don't have to putty both sides and finish it off.

Are you talking about grinding marks?  Filler and primer is all you need.  Use metal filler.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Yeah Guys, I welded the medal pans in, re-spot welded were able too and grinded the welds down nice and flat. These are the scar's I am talking about. I have been told to use either Medal filler or Gorilla Hair(short) first, then body filler, prime and paint??? Does this sound correct to you guy's? PS this is my 58 Plymouth Fury "Christine"!!!!
