I was wondering if anyone's running Lokar kickdown on their Charger, how do you like it, cons/pros

Where's that little emoticon with the guy opening a can of worms?   :smilielol:

Lokar is fine IF the installer understands the principle of operation...otherwise, it's junk.

Hey... that was an answer based on a fact, what's that doing here.

Installation was easy and it was a it looks clean.  Mounts on the back on trans and pulls vs the original.  Easy to do and easily adjusted.

If you want a cable setup that actually works correctly and is designed for a Mopar instead of the generic Lokar, look at the Bouchillon setup...more bucks but you get what you pay for.

I agree, that's the set up i have on my car, works great. :2thumbs:

I have the Lokar but agree on it being generic.  I love it but also knew how I wanted it to operate.  I like it because my intake and carb setup threw the mechanical linkage out of the proper geometry, going to the cable allowed me to adapt.

Silver R/T

That's what I have. I'm running Street dominator intake and aftermarket carb so it doesn't look like stock kickdown would work.

Original kickdown didn't work for me. Edlebrock performer RPM intake with Holley street avenger carb. The Lokar works great. Took a little tinkering, but that just means driving the car more to get it wright.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....

I've got the XV kickdown cable plus excelerator cable and they work perfectly.  :2thumbs:

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

I agree with this one. Lots of adjustability. I am using a taller intake with a Holley carb. Using a cable set up over the linkage rods is a much better way to go. You can actually get the kickdown and shift points to work.

Trans bracket installed.

The reason most people can't get the factory linkage to work correctly with an aftermarket carb is because they don't use the correct Mopar throttle lever extension for that carb and, in many cases, they're changing over from a 2-barrel and the linkage needs to be lengthened for a 4-barrel.

Well since noone else has said it yet I will be "that guy".  Swapping to a 4 speed fixed all of my kickdown issues!  :nana:
