Video of my Charger coming out of hibernation.

Well, it's been 4 long years since I've had the Charger out. I've always had 2 classics' & I was cruising the 2nd car every summer. It's too hard to do both so one gets shoved up against the wall & the other is driven.

Well I sold the other car, the '71 'cuda, so now it's Charger time. I changed the oil & fired it up last Thursday. I didn't have legal plates so I took it out Saturday when I renewed. I had to buy new ones so I had to retire the "440 TXZ" plates.

Tolley, a member of the '70 Charger Registry was doing a NW board member tour while he visited his Mom in the Seattle area.  It's too bad there's not more folks like him in this world.

Before, I could never figure out how to post videos with my old camera. This new one I have no problems. This video is taken by Tolley's son with his camera. It could use some more editing.   :Twocents:

Anyhoots, the 1st minute is how she sounds normally. Like it's about to die but never does. If I turn up the idle, it doesn't want to turn off so it's where it needs to be. If anything I could use some more stall. The noise you might hear is my vacuum pump kicking on & off. The cam doesn't produce enough for the power brakes. The reason I'm jockeying around is I have to get in the front yard at an angle in order to get out our driveway. That peak is too severe. If someone's with me in the Magnum it'll bottom out too. And that's on the good side.  With the 'cuda I was completely in the front yard.

From 5:08 on we're out cruising. At 5:26 I do a rolling burn out. You can see a green light above my right knee go on. That's the Gear Vendors light. I forgot to kick it off, the OD kicks in @ 45mph but actually we were only doing about 30, the tires were moving a lot faster, lol.

After that initial roller it's pretty boring. I just like the beginning really. After I drove the car a mile or so, mentally I couldn't figure out why I wasn't driving it anymore.

Good times to follow this summer.

Make sure your speakers are turned on.

Nice car. Is it a U code or R code? Btw, one of my favorite internet pics is the one with the purple and blue RTs in the garage with their hoods up.

Yes I AGREE  & in a 25 MPH residential area  with extra road signs to alert drivers the road lanes change suddenly  with sudden side streets mixed in, :flame: Nice car, very beautiful.  When you are "punching it"  before you get to a safe enough area to do that, How do you manage to remain in control of your vehicle with  your CELL PHONE in your left hand & a drink in the other ???? what would you do if  A CHILD WALKED OUT OR RAN OUT FOR A BALL IN THE STREET ? , your hands  are pre occupied WITH THE CELL PHONE & DRINK  and by the time you fiqured out which one to drop so you could grab the wheel and hopefully swerve and /or stop before killing the kid it would be a done deal. I am sure you are a safer driver than what you showed in the video and don't make a habit of that. if someone did that in front of your house & if you have children, i am sure you would understand what I am saying now.

Seriously?...

My hands should be the least of your worries.  I'm a paraplegic, I can't feel my legs nor do I know what's going on with them.  Do you wanna give me some shit over that too?

You don't know me.  You have no idea what you're talking about as far as judging the area I'm in.  Did you see the 8' concrete sound barriers on one side where I did it?  Did you notice I can see for quite a ways ahead of me?  I've been in this area since '97, there were no houses where I got on it, only at the end & ALL those homes have retired folks.  I have NEVER seen any kids on this street in the 15 years we've lived here.  Sort of why I get on it there... :eyes:

Yeah, there were people everywhere.   ::)

model maker

No I don't & you are right, I do not know you or what you have been through Nor do you know me & know what I have been through & am going through  now being disabled myself as is my wife.  Without use of your legs,Your car must have special hand controls for throttle & brake which means you need MORE THAN EVER  to keep your hands free   to operate the brakes correct ? The area may have retired people  and maybe you have NEVER seen any kids there but that does not mean there are not any, retired people do have GRANDCHILDREN who may visit. I was just commenting on what you posted and how you should have waited until you were OUT of a residential area like you were later in the video where i would not see a problem at all as you can SEE whats around there. unlike the residential street where a kid or a car could be trying to come out into the street and then a car suddenly accelerating as you did and IF you hit someone at that speed, you are going to do more than hurt them. If that were to happen you would have more than The Police to worry about, you would have lawyers looking to take away all you have or will ever have , I have seen this happen to 2 families i knew, family one, the guy who was doing exactly what you were doing ( cell phone in hand & sudden acceleration in residential neighborhood &  and family  # 2, the  victims of # one. My message here is just to say, PLEASE BE CAREFUL,  PAY ATTENTION, & EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED  and most of all is DON'T DRIVE DISTRACTED. I have now climbed down from my soapbox. Your 70 Charger is one of the nicest i have EVER seen and it shows real pride in ownership.

Every assumption you've made is incorrect.

How about I throw one at you.  A lot of your posts are long winded with lots of red faces.  Whatever your disability/problem is must have turned you into an angry at the world type.  I see that a lot.

Or maybe you could just learn from this experience and keep your mouth shut next time. Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean everyone needs to hear it. This is a classic Charger website and so it stands to reason there might be videos of muscle cars doing burnouts on public roads. If you can't handle it maybe you should find a Prius or Camry forum (if there are any) where it's all about their baby on board signs and how to squeeze out 2 more mpg by duct taping the fender seams. Mike's car has a 572 Hemi, ya clown. What do you think he should do, putter around everywhere like a pansy doing 30? I sure hope not.

Couldn't tell ya' which Dynomax mufflers they were, whatever came with the tti kit back in '07.  It's all tti except the Accurate tips.

Wow. Amazing. Again my point is proven that someone on this site makes comments that are not needed and stirs trouble. I don't give two sh#ts about past contributions. Keep your, and your friends dumb ass comments to yourself. I took a look at the video and was in awe of the car. I played it safe by looking at past comments before I left a POSITIVE comment. And look at the fighting?  Guys. When my car is sold and it will be you negative few, see ya later. I'm outta here. Who the hell needs this crap?  How many other good people left because of a few negative fools  over powering people? The guy can't even take a ride!!
I remember when I posted a pic of my kid in the car. His first time. What was Chris's comment?  My wife would never let me put my kid in the front. Ooooh how unsafe. How about, awesome pic Rob, cute kid. Some of you don't contribute to the hobby. You drive People away. Chris and Chris G. Later. Don't go to crazy trying to comment back. I won't read your dribble.
Anyone else that's been a friend here to me, email or call anytime.

:iagree: 1,000%. What an asshat. Talk about not taking your meds when you should. You were planning on disappearing anyway, so don't try and blame it on others. You're a self proclaimed flipper, so your short stay was inevitable.

It's sad to see such anger towards Chris. He has helped you more than anyone around here. Now all of a sudden he's the devil? He dealt with your 500 PM's, your 500 emails, your facebook account. I on the other hand thought you were a complete tool from the get go. I am glad to see I was right  :2thumbs: . What a scumbag. Now go take your meds little girl.

Holy crap! How did a video ride turn into a pissin' match? All I have to say is I hope my next charger is either a 68' or preferably 70' cause 69's have left a thorn in my side, ha....
Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Wow unbelieveable Rab.  You have dragged your bleeding heart into someone else's thread.

It is a shame that you are not man enough to take a comment or opinion that you don't want to hear.  It's called constructive criticism.   All comments made to you were from the flip side of the peaches & cream fantasy land you proclaim to live in. Yes your car might have "bid" to your reserve BUT in the real world there is a chance that you will be relisting a few times to get your money.  Hopefully not but that's how it MIGHT play out.  I understand you might not wan to hear that but that's an opinion that I as a friend thought you might like to hear. I did not realize you were a 40 year pro so please excuse my ignorance & disregard the comments.

After all I have done for you on a personal level from Day 1 you have to call me out like this?
Most of us are men on this site that can take ALL comments, good or bad & process them like men.  Obviously you have gone the way of some others & choose to take things way too personal.
Unfortunately I have wasted my time helping you along the way. Shame on me for trying to believe that you were able to handle joking and opinions like most men.

Mike I would like to apologize to you personally for Rob having to derail this thread. Unfortunately I will be locking it as well.
