I recently picked up a 1968 26" radiator, and the part # is 2898069.  How is this radiator different than the 2898048 radiator?  Something to do with max. cool package or something?  It is mentioned in the Paul Herd '68-'71 restoration guide but it doesn't appear in my '68 parts manual.

Thanks ODZking.

They certainly look interchangable, and both look like 3 core radiators, but with different part numbers.  Is the 069 radiator uncommon?  I don't see much information around on it.....

ODZKing

Yeah, I couldn't find much either.  You sure it is 69 and not 59 or 89?

Yes, the radiator number is 2898069 and it looks like a 2898047/2898048 radiator to me.  Like I said, I have an original MOPAR 1968 Passenger Car Parts Catalog and it isn't listed in there, but it is noted in the Paul Herd '68-'71 restoration guide as a max cooling radiator in '68 (I assume for 383's and 440's).  It is also an optional part number at Glen-ray's website, so they must exist......

I agree.  Bob is quite knowledgeable over at Glen-Ray, you could call him and ask.

I found the 069 radiator in my '68 Charger/Coronet/Dart Service Manual.  It looks like a trailer towing/air conditioning unit for 383's and 440's and is a bit heavier than a 048 radiator - not sure in what way.....

Good find.  I don't have a 68 or 9 service manual.  Glad you posted it.
It probably holds a quart more of coolant ... who knows!
