Pinion yoke difference?

Is there a difference between an 8.75 pinion yoke and a Dana 60 pinion yoke? My Dana replacement has a 1350 series. I know I'm gonna need to shorten the shaft a bit, but not sure if I need to change the end on the driveshaft.
Thanks,
Terry

I think the fine spline will swap , but I would have to check part #s .
, the Ford yolk for the dana will work with the 7290 Mopar joint , it has tabs outside of the cap to retain them instead of using the C clips

The 29-spline yokes aren't totally interchangeable, the Dana will fit the 8 3/4" but not vice-versa.

I tried to use a Dana 1350 29 spline yoke on a 8 3/4 pinion in a 489 case.  It fit but was really tight near the end.  Using a solid crush sleeve eliminator, I torqued to 250 lb/ft (recommended by Dr Diff) there was a ton of end play...  I removed the nut and couldn't get the yoke off the pinion!  I had to press it off with a 25T shop press and it appears that both the flange and pinion splines now are damaged.  I ordered a proper 8 3/4 1350 flange and now it won't even fit the pinion.  Good way to ruin a flange and set of gears IMHO
29 spline doesn't equal 29 spline - the pitch of the splines is different.
BTW - I bought this yoke brand new off eBay 5 years ago and it was listed to fit Dana and 489 Mopar... yeah right...

If you're going to shorten your driveshaft anyway, get the new 1350 flange on the D/S.  The 1350 is a stronger U-Joint.

Yep, that's why they're not a direct interchange but will often "work"; the difference in the spline included angle makes the Dana spline slightly larger in overall diameter that's why its yoke will "fit" the 8 3/4". Even with the proper spline angle the fit varies from pinion-to-pinion and yoke-to-yoke, some will slip on/off fairly easily and some need to be forced on/off.

I see, it just sucks trying to set up a diff with such a tight fitting flange...
