69 ROCKET

This 69 Charger arrived on the Gold Coast Australia about 8 months ago and i take delivery of it next week.

Ive done a little research and with a little more and some help hopefully I can find out some more...

The VIN No. XP29G9BXXXXXX has given me a little background on the Charger as initially they were trying to sell it as a R/T Charger.

The plans include new paint, interior, engine clean up....you get the drift :2thumbs:

Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Michael

thank, no fender tag or broadcast sheet, also there's no number on the radiator supports. The only numbers i've found (VIN Number) have been on the drivers side dash only...so far.

Ill look into the Registry, hopefully they may have more info on the car  :2thumbs:

Car looks to be in decent shape, keep us updated with your progress.  :2thumbs:

have a look under the driver side trunk lip weather strip , see picture & green arrow ,  should be  last 6 digits of the vin stamped  ,  before pulling weather strip up , look on the underside with a light , almost always you can see the indentations of the stamped digits  :yesnod:
should you decide to peel up the weather strip , be carefull its stuck on  :yesnod:

Gidday Rocket, looks like a good solid car from here, what colour and interior combo are you aiming for

Not sure at the moment, but I'm leaning towards black paint with red interior.

The first step will be sand blasting, checking for any rust and have it removed. I'll shave the body and make any modifications to fit 20 inch rims if needed before new paint.

I'd like to have the car complete within 6 months, can't wait to get started on it  :2thumbs:

Of course  :yesnod: Trying to get engine, trans and diff ordered before the charger gets taken to the metal shop just in case we need to make any modification to make them all fit.

Looks like a solid Charger you've got there.  :yesnod:

Frame connectors are already in? I see them poking thru the floor.  :scope:

Yes its has frame connectors, but who ever put them in did a very average job. I have a new floor and new connectors to replace the old.

A good way to end up buying a new rear bumper and taillight panel.
