Upper Door Pad Medallion - is this normal?

In the last 6 months I've probably seen pics of no less than 1,000 different cars as I learn more and more about the 2nd gens.   I've yet to see a car that has the little button in the upper door pad be anything but red.   Mine is red white and blue.   Can someone with more knowledge than me comment on this?  Is this what base Chargers came with or is this an early '68 thing?  Just curious:

Troy

Seems to be an early 68 deal. I don't have time to search for the old threads on this topic but it's been a while and a new discussion can't hurt.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Yeah I did a search but I don't think I'm searching for the right term for the part itself, I get a lot of hits on door pads etc but nothing specific.

'68's should have the chrome map pocket buttons.  :yesnod:
The window crank is a little funky, though.  :shruggy:

Actually none, it was a white vinyl top car from the factory though that's now long gone.   If there ever were any holes they were filled up cause I can't see them anymore.

How many should I have?

Should be two per side for the Charger script.
Rumors of a few "unicorns" leaving the factory with the arrow emblems on the sail panel as well (just like on 1st gens), and also pictured this way in the sales brochure. I put them on my '68 just because I liked the way they looked.

Ghoste

Do you have your fender tag on the car, what are some of the date codes on the car?

hatersaurusrex

Yeah it's a 920 code, meaning Sept 67 so it's def an early build, but I don't how how 'very' September is.

Also it would appear I have chrome door handle buttons.  Were all the early builds supposed to be black?   I have no clue if the handles/buttons/doors are original or not.
