Hi, I'm Russell...Im 48 yrs old, and damn, you are all living a dream that I have by owning a Charger!
I learned how to drive in a 69 Superbee, later given to me by my father, but couldnt afford the insurance....did a straight up trade at the time for a 125 Honda dirt bike.

Anyways, so here it's whats up....just went to see a guy, he's got a '70 Charger, not sure of paint codes and such, but dark green, white roof, white interior...looks mint....power windows, air...all working....hasn't been on the road since '88...could  have bought it for 3k back then, but heated garage, strats it, washes/waxes it a couple times a year!

Would be a turn key driver...looks excellent to me....

ssrry, no pics, but now he wants 25k for it.....what do you think!

Welcome.  :icon_smile_wink:

Like he said, need lots more info. Do you mean to say that it has not started or moved in 24 years? In which case 25k is grossly overpriced. Unless it is a perfectly preserved Hemi. And then it still needs a complete inspection.

Personally I would want a whole bunch of top notch Mopar for that price.  :Twocents:  So, need lots more info.

If it's a turn key then he has had it insured and on the road.  Therefore he's had it appraised for insurance.  Ask to see the appraisal.  See how old it is.  I live in Ontario, my insurance requires a new one every 5 years.

Welcome, I loved timmons when we visited! As above more info and if it was not ran up to tempature and through the gears on the highway then it is just a lottery as to when the seals will leak, not to mention 24 yr old tires. Like you said, "It LOOKS mint" and maybe if you are really lucky you only need tires, but that would definitely not be my luck. Is it a 24 yr. Old resto or is it a 42 yr old well kept car? One great thing is that it almost sounds like you do not have any rust repair to worry about. I would think that for that money you could obtain a much more recent resto. Best of luck with your decision.

Welcome. To start with, what engine does it have?
My 1969 Charger. RIP......Rest in pieces.

Its a 383, auto...it's not driven on the roads, hasn't been since '88, but he does fire it up and move it a few times a years.
It's been mantained well, store in a heated garage. He washes/waxes it etc, the thing looks like new...white interior, back seat still has the plastic on it. Reads around 54000 miles on it. I'll try to get some pics, don't know if he'll let me.

Ram07

Pretty sure it's an SE, buckets, center console, air, electric windows, woodgrain dash, nice car!

Was his first car, the guy is a mechanic, treats it right, just won't drive it.

From what I know, it had a repaint in the early 80's, think it had the lower quarters replaced, but that's it. He lived next door to a buddy of mine way back then. Have known the guy ever since.

Bobs69

If it was me selling, and I wasn't motivated to sell, like I'm not but consider it from time to time.  Anyhow enough of that................ I'd show you the appraisal and ask for that amount.  Maybe even more.  If the buyer didn't want it, fine with me.

If it's that nice and he doesn't drive it, maybe he can't enjoy it.  Meaning, he sweats bullets everytime he has to leave it parked somewhere.

Ram07

Yeah, I'll ask for one, must be appraised I would think, in case his house burned down,it's in the attached garage, right?
Don't know why he stopped using it...I remember he bought a truck and used that...still does, then an 89 I think trans am, and just parked the charger.
Thanks for the replies.

Timmis, Ont.  I know I have heard of that town in the past.  Now I recall......That's the home of Shania Twain!  :2thumbs:
Welcome...

Ram07

Well...have an update for those that maybe wondered. :shruggy:

Last couple of weeks has been nothing but a complete waste of time. Refused pics, refused showing an apprasial....because "he" knows what it's worth....and to top it all off....I get the "yeah", think I'll just hang on to it for now now  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

Oh well...it happens I guess...what a disappointment tho  :'(....and that's all she wrote...I'll keep saving my pennies....and go on the hunt next year!

Cheers!

Chryco Psycho

I assume like everyone else you are stuck in the must have a 68-70
My 71 is still available , 440 4spd rust free full resto if interested

Ram07

Yes, I am....was stuck on a 69 Charger forever, but the more I see the cars on here....thinking a 1968, but...really just want one, from 68-70...a no work needed done... driver.....not show!
'71's are very cool, but not the dream!
Fun fact, years ago, my buddie bought a Charger Superbee....strange kind of green, had the stickers on the hood and stuff....he let it sit, then did a trade for an old pickup...last I saw, the superbee was just flat black tearing up through town!
Another fun fact...been driving around...gotta remember where I live, never see these kinds of cars...went to a lumber/storage yard found a 69 Coronet, and a 69 Superbee....guessing a long lost project of someone....both very rough, but two complete cars....lost his storage a couple of years ago...cars are just in the field.

Ram07

Only managed a small peak at the cars, before the owner, and his loyal dog came over...both painted orange....the superbee was a 4 spd.
