Well I got tired of saying I was going to do it and got tired of looking at that awful gap between bumper and fenders/hood.  It pretty much took me the better part of yesterday to complete and I will have to pull it off to do a little tweaking here and there but nothing major.  I'd like to say thanks to RalleyMike for inspiring me and giving me the heads up on the frame rail issue.....

That looks really good!  Do you have pics & steps on how and what to do?  I would like to do this to my car at some point in the restoration as well.

Thanks!

Awesome Job!

Thank you, if you have a 72 then you don't have to do this.

I had to go check mine after seeing the pics  of yours. Nice job you did there that would drive me crazy too.I find no matter how beautiful the car is set up there is always someone out there to point out the 1 thing that's not perfect.

thanks again, I am happy with the way it turned out.....   Was time well spent - ok, any time spent with a Charger is time well spent  :icon_smile_big:

That is good news...   Been so long since I had the bumper & fenders on the car I forgot what it looked like!!

Pics and steps on how to do it is a great idea. I've seen a few threads where members where asking about this. When you pull it off to tweak it, could you take some photos and measurements and go through the steps? I'm sure a lot of members would find this interesting. Why go through the trial and error when you obviously did a great job of it.

My fillers are going to be ok for the "driver" i'm building, but I've been kicking around front and rear bumper relocation because I like how it tightens up the body lines.

the headlight trim rings will need to be trimmed so they will fit.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I will see if I can take additional pictures when I pull it back apart to tweak it and to a little better job of explaining what I did...  I am much happier with the looks now  :2thumbs:  I did also do the rear bumper but that was a few weeks ago and all you need is 72 bumper brackets and hog out the holes in the body a little to the inside and your good to go.

Yes, very nice job and looks so much better.

Hey! Looks great.

There are a few pictures of similar 73 Charger front and rear bumper mods posted on Page 4 of this thread:

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,82517.75.html

They are not that good because I didnt take pics with the intent of them being a how-to guide. It would probably be more helpful when you take yours back apart (TK73's charger never stops moving, so that isnt going to happen over there)

Hey Mike, thanks!

I did follow that thread and your pictures is what gave me the push I needed to do mine, I've been saying I wanted to do it for a while.  I notched the frame rail a little different than what you did but I'm sure all else was basically the same.  I pulled it apart today and finished it up, took the better part of my day.

I was making a new thread as a how to and was just about done when I don't know what I did, what key I hit and boom, gone  :brickwall:  I'll try to get the energy later or tomorrow.

Arg! I hate it when that happens...

Looking forward to your pics. I think you got it just right.
