Well.
I have the vacuum switch back out for  too hard to push buttons and thought I better fix it while the dash is out,

Anyway, the switch in the car has an electrical pigtail soldered on the terminals.
the NOS switch I have here does not.

Can I just un-solder the old wiring and solder it into the new switch or are the switches themselves different inside ?

anyone done it

replaced mine with a new Chrysler/ nos one   , yes like you say factory  just soldered the wires to the male spade terminals  on the originals  ,   what i done was , crimp female terminals on  the factory wiring , & fitted them to the location as on the original switch ,
decided on crimping connectors  , instead of soldering as OEM , just in case i got one a little hot & damaged the switch inside (  prolly been ok , but was spending  too much  :icon_smile_blackeye: dough on parts & materials at the time , did not want to risk it  :icon_smile_blackeye: ) , as it was expensive  as i remember  even 10 - 12 years ago to buy  :scratchchin:

Sell your nos for mucho $$$ and buy an aftermarket for $60.  I just added one to my rockauto cart and will also use connectors instead of soldering.  That makes life a bit easier.
