Yes you can, (did it to mine)  I just removed the plastic cover from underneath the steering column and with a pair of long nose pliers removed the old and installed the new.

Well, I'm committed to taking the cluster out; I ordered a new transistor voltage limiter and a new quartz clock (my gets stuck at "41" every few minutes or so). It all arrives tomrrow so if I can get out of work a bit early  :2thumbs:I'll have it out, fixed and together in less than 3 beers.

Where did you order your clock from?

I got everything from Van's Auto. I read a couple of reviews from the memebrs here and it was mostly very good. Fingers crossed!

I completed the swap but I made a mistake; instead of three beers it took five. I'm so happy I don't care.

However, everything seems to work and as a bonus I got the flashers to work. Clock seems to be fine ( although I did notice a slight difference in the guage lettering font) and the voltage limiter was working--tough to tell if there is an improvement somewhere.

So,  pronounce I this a success....that is until I break something.
