8 3/4 rear

guys,

looking at a 70 challenger 8 3/4 to replace my 69 charger 8 1/4.  are the dimensions on this axle the same as a 8 3/4 from a b body.

No they are 1.5" longer, but you can weld on new brackets and it will work, I have one under my car.

this guy selling the rear said the spring perches were 44 " apart like a b body.  but wanted to see if the axle was longer.  how will that affect the look of the car.  does your look funny

All E-bodies have 46" spring centers, pre-'71 B-bodies are 44".

'68-'70 B-body overall width from drum-to-drum is 60 1/8", E-body is 61 5/8".

gotcha.  so is a 70 challenger considered e body

Yes, '70-'74 Cudas and Challengers are E-bodies.
