wiper motor resistor

i just realized i didnt hook mine up.i tested the wipers they do actually work. what is it actually for?

It's for resistance. It basically limits the current to make the motor run slower, ie., low, medium and high or low and high, depnding on your setup. The high setting just means full current to the motor so yes, the wipers will work on high speed without the resistor.
