I am not a transmission guru, so this may be a silly question, how do you know if the bands need adjusting....what are the symptoms?

The front band is used for second gear, the rear band is used for reverse and engine braking in manual low.

Most common symptoms would be slipping or delayed engagement in second or reverse.

The front band is an easy external adjustment. The reverse band adjustment requires the pan to be dropped but as a rule it doesn't require adjustment as often as the front band.

It's not a midlife crisis, it's my second adolescence.

............U will also notice a harsher engagement to reverse.........kim...........
