My car wont start. I get a click from the starter relay when i turn the key but no reaction at all from starter.
When i measure the current from the starter relay to the starter negative it reads 5-6 volts without the key in! and when i turn the key it reads 0 instead of 12 v....any clues to why or should I just get a new relay ?

Use a screwdriver blade to connect the two threaded terminals on the relay...if the starter turns, the relay is faulty.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks John for your reply.

Am not sure I understand you, and before I do it I would like to understand what/why that will happen.

The 2 threaded terminals on the starter relay are connected to +bat and negtive on starter respectively. By doing what you suggest John it seams to me that I would end up connecting both the starter positive and negative to +bat ?

Hi again John

I talked to a friend and he explained to me how the starter curcuit works and I relalize your right now. What i thought was a ground/negative is actually the plus feed that will trigger the relay in the starter. My baaaadddd  :yesnod:

Sry for being such a newbe and thanx for your help :)
