Autobody Specialties Inc, 128 Meriden Road Po Box 455, Middlefield, Connecticut 06455 Sole me compete Rocker Pannels for my 1969 Charger.  After I repaired the rust spots, I found that I did not need the panels.  After I tried to return them, I was informed that there is a 30 day return policy.  When I explained that this was a problem because when one repairs a car it is possible that more time is required between getting the parts and doing the fix.  They said "too bad" and that is their policy then continued to "explain" their policy at LENGHTH and indicate that anyone that didn't understand or accept the policy was not an agreeable person.  They then hung up on me.

I suggest that you go directly to the manufacturer of panels, AMD, Goodmark, etc. and not do business with such an unresponsive firm.

We do not need such suppliers when the world is full of good ones.

Not to sound harsh, but I don't know of many places that give much more than a 30 day return policy. I do hear you  on timing. My parts were stored for about a year before they got test fitted. Hanging up on a customer is not very professional though. :Twocents:

When we went to replace the rocker on mine a couple months ago realized it was the wrong side. I had bought the rocker a year ago. The seller gladly exchanged it as I had the documentation of what i ordered. If i would have just tried to return it I don't think it would have gone so smooth.

Sorry, but almost every single parts supplier has that same policy on sheetmetal I have ever bought, It's not Wal-Mart and I agree with their mentality it is the buyer's responsibility to check all the parts when they receive them (with the truck driver still present!) and then if it is something you don't want send it back then (reject shipment) sorry but that's the way it is, you can always list it in the "For Sale" section and maybe recoup a little money back out of it. :Twocents:
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Sorry to hear that. I've been dealing with ABS for years on my Chargers and other vehicles. I've never had to return a part so I can't comment on that end. I can say they have always been extremely helpful to me whenever I've had a question. If they didn't know the answer they would get the answer and actually call me back.

It is a pisser to get BAD customer service. When THEY have the balls to refuse a return, you feel powerless and want to strike back.
In 2001. I ordered a patch panel from them to fix rear window rust. They sent the wrong side. I called and sent the one back, they sent the WRONG side again. It turned out that their batch of panels were MISmarked. ALL of them had LH on the right side parts.

yoru story is different the OP got his part he needed, but was past the 30 day mark since he was working on his car so their policy is NOT RETURNS after 30 days.......yours on the other hand they kept sending the wrong part on their end.

Thanks, Captain OBVIOUS.    :hah:
I was just letting the guy know that we ALL have problems with vendors from time to time. Not EVERYone reads the fine print in every sales contract. Some details slip by. I agree with another member that mentioned how a man can buy a collection of parts but doesn't get to install them right away, in the meantime the "window of opportunity" expires for a return.

Maybe it's just me, but I've never seen anybody take panels back after 30 days because they weren't needed.

I would surmise this would be to weed out the "gimme one of everything and I'll send back what I don't use..OK?" croud.

AMD understood very well.  They offered to accept the parts less a restocking fee and give me a credit for future perchases even though their agent (ABS) actually sold the parts.  AS I said go directly to the manufacturer.

They have a policy, that's it, there in business to "SELL"(re: make money),....not re-inventory what you decide you no longer need when you get around to finishing your car, months or years later ::) anytime I've had left over, or unused panels, either I resold them, or passed them along to friends that needed them, hell I'd throw out stuff before calling a vendor back asking them if they'd take it back...

Besides they hung up on you, I really fail to see your problem..
