Yes, I've resided in the Miami area since 1980.

This is actually my first posting within this site, however, I've been lurking around for several months now.
After a twenty-seven year hiatus from the Mopar scene (and a second mid-life crisis) I'm finally geting back into the hobby.

I currently own two Chargers - a 68' 440/4-speed (my first car @ age 16, paid $125.00), and a recent acquisition - a 69', R4 w/ black vinyl top. On the 69', I just finished restoring the entire engine compartment w/ drivetrain.
Currently, I just finished repairing and recalibrating the dash/cluster/controls/console. Next year I'll repaint the exterior.

The 68' - she's a Flintstone mobile, but not for long. I'll hope to start restoration this summer.
Before I neglected her for thrity years (due to family, large-scale radio-controlled airplanes and Harley's), she ran in the low thirteen's @ Hollywood - through the mufflers, street tires and me as an inexperienced punk driver. We're talking 1983!

Scary how the years flew by...

Anyway, I'm down in Cutler Bay. Have you visited the classic car gathering each 1st Saturday of the month @ Sir Pizza?

That's cool, same stopping grounds, my photo above was taken about 1984 in Coral Gables, I was a teenager, the only other "old" mopar I knew at the time was a friend briefly (before I moved out of S.Fla) who had a 68-69 coronet at gas station across from Gables HS in gray prime.  Mine here was a Q5-383-4bar car originally which was navy blue at the time.  I sold this car to buy another in-about 1986, it also sat in south Miami (near Westminster/Palmer area) & Homestead for a while also, have you seen it or know of it?

My name is Mike and I'm a Moparholic!

Thanks for the warm welcome!  I'm originally from south east Ohio (Marietta-Belpre area) where Mopars rule.  Down here in Miami it's a rare sight so see anything more than 10 years old. Sad to say, I had to sell my Charger but I have not forgotten it and hope to build another one soon. Here are a few pics of it, it was s a 1970 Charger 500 318 auto. My step dad used to stock car race a 69 Superbee and kept all the parts.  I installed it's 440 six pack with ported 906 1967 closed chamber heads, 4 speed, 3.91 posi, 5.60 lift Engle hydrolic cam, modified Holly carbs (1350 CFM), electronic ignition with lots of other goodies!!

Hello,,
I don't live there now, but I was born and raised in South Florida ( there will always be a part of me there ). I was born in Miami and grew up in West Palm Beach till the age of 23 when the USAF took me away (and I never went back except for vacation). Back in the day, early to mid 80's, the musclecar scene was really happening. Helped start the South Florida Mopar Club which has now, I believed, turned into the Miami Mopar Connection (or something like that) and Mopars of the Palm Beaches... It was a great time. But, as you have observed, classic Mopars are scarce in the wild...

Here's a picture way way back.. My '70 six pack Charger R/T, my daily and only car... Those were the days..  :icon_smile_big:

Not in SoFlo, but I've been in Jax Beach for about 2 years now.   Up here it's a bit more 'Pine than Palm' as they say :)
