how to troubleshoot power steering issue?

any one have any experience troubleshooting intermitten power steering issues?


the pump and the steering box are as old as ive had the car. (20yrs)

its always leaked a little. I added fluid this weekend (it was half full).

It just started losing power steering intermittenly today.

Theres a slight groaning noise when it goes out but its hard to hear.

its spraying fluid out the cap when it goes out (which i think is expected).

You need a new pump.
