It will be painted like my new blue one with a white wing - real paint cut and buffed. The bed spread with have the hood (with white inserts like I do it, windows and roof. Wheels will be a challenge. But a 13 inch mag hub cap will work and I will make my own wheels. Even the doors will have the slope to the door vents, and the wing, well you know me, Dorothy could really have flown in this one, it will be a scaled with accuracy.

Wood, glass, filler, paint, cut and buffed, perfection! Done by June 16th by my son Joel's Birthday.

And don't worry wing buyers, the wings are not cast yet.

Very nice. That's quite a birthday present. Does he know he's getting it or will it be a complete surprise?

He will be the envy of all his friends...  Maybe you could make a personalized license plate for him as well as a 'Title'?  A fender tag would be awesome!  Either way he will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this gift.  Not just for what it is.. but because Daddy made it for him!   Great Job!

Out of wood and fiberglass?

Oh, and the bedspread will have the top view of the car with the hood, but the comforter will have two layers, that will act like the hood of a car, and when you left it up it will have a HEMI under the hood.

Getting closer - the wing will be functional - I just can't help myself. I could build one the right shape in my dreams. This is about 1/3 the scale.

Whats your plans for wheels?
They will be wood. I found a Viper type 12 chrome hubcap (for the wheels)  at Walmart for 20. The wood would need turned to give a 3d look. Not sure that will happen. it is 1/3 the actual size of a charger - the wheels will role and will be adjustable.

Why don't you make them out of styrofoam so you can sand them down easily to give you the 3d look. Then you can layup some mat or just coat them in resin to make them rigid.

I won't be wronged, I wont be Insulted and I wont be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to others, and I require the same from them.

So is this the real wing or a Joel wing?

WOW what a bed that one is. I'm trying to stay OEM ha ha

Ya, your right. The bed with the girls is more "Pro touring" LOL!

This is my blue that I'm going with for the big boy Daytona - I really like it. Not to Petty (powder blue), not too dark, yet bright and deep.

What is so funny is I broke all the rules because I did not care; it is a kid's bed. I used a primer gun, did not clean the surface much just sanded and wiped it off with a dry towel and shot it. Came out beautiful. It kills me.

I'm going to use a slightly parker blue pin stripe for the door vents to give a shadow effect of true body lines. But that will be put on after I cut and buff the paint.
