This is crazy, And my own cousin has it...

I have a second cousin (Mike) that lives in California. He is back here in Ohio for a few weeks staying with his parents while he's here so I took Mom and we drove over to see him and his mom and dad... He's out in the garage so I go out to see what he's up to.

Turns out he has a car he's storing in his parents garage and he is getting it ready to take it to an auction in Indy here in another week...

It is a 69 Hemi Road Runner with 4068 original miles on it. I hope I get this story straight but I was just in awe when looking at this car while he was telling it... It had 64 miles on it when his brother (Steve) bought it from the original owner that raced the car for a couple years. The original owner replaced the gears and it has something in the high 4's for a gear ratio but he never changed the speedometer gear so the miles registered on the odometer is probably higher than what is actually on the car.   :o   Too bad he needs to sell it.

His brother (Steve) put a couple hundred miles on it and decided to sell it and offered it to Mike who couldnt buy it at that time, so he sold it to someone else. Just guessing here but this would have probably been in the early 80's. That guy had it a few years and decided to sell it, and by that time Mike was able to buy it. Somewhere along the line it has had one repaint. Mike has put a couple thousand miles on it and now he is in a position where he needs to sell it, so he is back in Ohio getting it ready to go to auction next week.  Now like I said I was just in awe with looking and listening to this bad boy so the story may not be exactly right.

He has the build sheet for the car, and he has what he's calling the line sheet for it also. He has the front seat out because the driver seat has a couple tears in the vinyl..

Anyway, on to the good stuff...

:2thumbs: NICE Road Runner!!  It would hurt to let that go.  I would trade my Charger for that!

moparstuart

thats a  69   why is that fender tag so strange ?  lynch rd tag maybe  ????
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

Tilar

You're right it is 69. Built fall of 68. Not sure what you're talking about with the tag unless it has something to do with it being raced?  :shruggy:  Did they make cars specifically for racing maybe?

Just 6T9 CHGR

Looks like a few items were changed over the years (master cylinder, coil, ballast resistor, washer bottle etc)  Hopefully the orig stuff was kept!!

Chris' '69 Charger R/T

I know it has a bigger cam in it, not sure of the other items. He did mention something about the steering wheel being different than a regular Road Runner but the line sheet mentions it being ordered with what I think he called a regular corperate steering wheel?  :shruggy:  Something to do with the emblem in the center.

I would love to have that 69 Hemi RR... It is a beautiful thing, I'm on #13 RR 68-71's, if I had the cash I would make that #14... Nice car for sure
