I will add to the question, as I just picked up some shoulder belts in red (faded).   Any idea's for red dye too?  

What is the standard thought for the belts "tags date" prior to a build date for a 500?  How long are they thought to have been at CI for modifications?

       When I did mine back in the mid 90S I used Dupont and I had to tint the dye to get it usable but it is not as close as I'd like.  My seat belts need to be done also.

I would talk to an SEM dealer about their Color Coat paints. They should be able to match one up for you and SEM Color Coat is about the best plastic/vinyl coating I know of, assuming you prep it correctly.

As far as seatbelts, Rit  is the one everybody talks about but I haven't tried it yet.

When I needed to dye some of my interior Pearl White I talked to SEM directly and they had me send in a sample. They matched it perfectly. I had used a couple other brand dyes for other projects in the past. SEM is the best in my opinion.

Where in Canada are you located?

When I needed the custom colour they formulated for my Pearl White interior I was able to have it mixed at National Coatings & Supplies (NCS) in Concord Ontario. They have the ability to mix standard SEM colours or custom colours if you supply them the SEM formula. Like I mentioned earlier, SEM did not have a off the shelf match for Pearl White so I sent them a sample peice of material they could scan and make a custom formula for. They do this at their Technical facility in South Carolina I believe. After a few weeks they emailed me the formula. I took that to NCS and they mixed the colour. It matched perfectly.
