Cool weekend

As some may know, I finished putting my 69 together late 2011. When I fired it off the first time, I took it for about a half-mile spin, parked it in the shop, disconnected the battery and it has been sitting in there ever since.

I have been doing some work on my house and I rented a roll-off dumpster, and it was sitting in front of my shop. Well they picked it up Friday so Saturday was so nice I decided to fire it off to run a few errands around town.

I remember when I bought the car around 12 years ago, I drove it around in its junky state for about a year before I tore it down. It got some attention like that....but now...OMGosh, I cannot believe all the comments, folks that want to look at it, folks that want to ask questions, etc. When I stopped at the gas station (all it had in it was a couple of gallons I poured in with a can when I fired it off), a local guy I know of (don't know him personally), that has a lot of classic cars asked me if I would take 25k for it today, I hesitated, but declined.

The proudest moments for me though was when someone would ask 'Who painted it?'...."I did!" "Who did the interior"..."I did!" "Who built the engine?"...."I did!"

I still got some odds and ends to do, and need to clean and detail the car, but I am so ready to hit the road for a longer trip! Really makes my chest swell with pride, but on the same token, makes me nervous as heck worrying about the car.

Just wanted to share my experience yesterday and today,
Jason

I know the feeling when everyone says "who did the paint or interior or mechanical" and you can say "I did!!" Gotta love it!!  :icon_smile_big: :2thumbs:
