Apparently the car is somewhere near New Orleans. The two photos above were taken at a car show last weekend. I copied the VIN and photos from a toy site that I visit. The photographer doesn't recall the owners name, but it seems the guy has owned the car for many years.

...another poster there informs me that there were far fewer than 500 Daytonas built. no response from him yet, as to my offer to prove him wrong.

Hmmm, It definitely has a Louisiana tag on it, but I don't think I know the car.  I know of two B5 Birds here in the Jackson, MS area but both have black interior.  I know of a couple Birds in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area but not a B5 car.

I thought that looked like the Edgewater Mall parking lot in Biloxi. We hang out there all the time during Cruisin the Coast.

The above is correct.   It is Steve's car, and it used to belong to John Vaughn who did the 3/8 scale tunnel work on the Daytona.

Strange...That list shows my bird as a V code car and Blue Fire Met. My car is a U code car and was Yellow.  The weird part is, my car is from El Paso but that's not the name that I had for the previous owner. That may be the original owner.  :icon_smile_big:

I was read somewhere that there may have been less than 503 Daytonas, It said that they wound up counting some cars twice as they were running them around the building and back through to not build the required 500 cars for eligibility? any truth?
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

No.  The dealer list that shows where they were shipped debunks that.   And the survival rate is over 360 cars give or take.
