Electric window motor assist spring question

Which way does the spring go does it help assist the window motor up or down?

Up I believe.

So to attach the motor to the arm. I attach it in the fully up position and the spring should have  no tension on it.

Its to assist the motor up, so in the full up position there should be minimal tension..in the down or midrange without the teeth holding, it would and (if given the opportunity, so be careful) explode.
