Baseball sized hail pounded my 2001 ram 1500 quad cab.  Gotta wait to see what the insurance Co. offers for it.  Gotta feeling I may need some assembly lube to bend over and take this offer :eek2:

Our 2006 Charger was pelted with golf ball size hail about a month and half ago, it had 106,000 miles on it they gave us $7500.00 for the damages!! I figured they would have totaled it but they did not! I bought a hood off a 2007 Daytona last night for $50.00 gonna re-paint it plum crazy since it's the wifes ride!!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

I would like to get a 94-98 2500 Diesel.  They are going to need to give me at least $5500 on my truck.  I think i can find something in the $7500 range :shruggy:

I guess the good news is that it wasn't the Daytona or Neil's truck.

with out a doubt, I had the daytona at a cruize a couple of hours before it hit.  I left early because it did not look good and smelled like rain.  Because of the size of the old hauler it is stored out of town in a big barn.  the town it is in only got rain no hail at all

I would have the invoice from your $900 rear end o/h in hand when they come to look at your truck.

I will try to get some pics of the truck Todd :slap:.  Insurance co called today and said they should have some #s for me by tomorrow.  I have located a 1998 Ram 2500 12v Cummins quad cab Auto 2wd 205,000 miles.  I think I can get for $5500.  Now Im just crossing my fingers and hoping State Farm gives me at least $5,500 for my truck.  It is a 2001 2wd SLT quad cab, custom paint (racing stripes), tono cover, tow package and a new rear end (500 miles on the rebuild).  I have several people offer to buy it from me if te buy back price is decent from the insurance.

It has 157,000 miles and yes it looks like I will be getting a different truck and definetly leaning towards a cummins.

Well, no cummins.  I drove to Steelville MO. (2hrs) to luck at a 98 cummins 2500.  I was close to a deal we were $500 apart at the end of negotiations and nietger would budge so I drove home empty handed.  Went today to look at a 1999 2500 V10 with extended cab matching color Leer camper shell is higher in the back than the roof.  It has factory fiberglass wheel flairs and running boards.  AM/FM CD/Casset player. power streets, windows and door locks, bug shield, mud flaps, and Rhino liner.  One owner 73,000 miles on the odometer.  It idles a little rough standing still, it has very few scratches on the body, tires have about half the tread.  I realy had my heart set on a diesel and negotiated the price as if I didn't want the truck, but at the price we agreed to I had to get it.  Iwill try to get some picyures of it up in the morning Todd :D

They are gas hogs

They are gas hogs but it will only hurt you if you are daily driving.    Buddy has one to pull his Superbird.  It gets close to the same mileage pulling versus my 5.7 Hemi Ram (about 9).   But he has all the power.   Empty he gets low teens with it.   For what he uses it for, he doesn't mind.

You will regret the V10, should have held out for a Cummins I have owned both and Cummins was a beast compared to the V10 and got double the MPG.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Haven't owned V10 but I own a Cummins and won't go to any other truck. It gets excellent mpg for being 3/4 and holds it's value very well. Here V10 Rams are basically given away, the prices are that low.

Exactly I could have bought a 98 3/4 ton V10 Ram extended cab long bed last week at the local auction had 150,000 on it for $2200.00 And it was a shame cause it was a nice truck! If that had been a Cummins everyone would have been on it and it would have brought $6500.00 (if not more)

I could not find a CLEAN 3/4 ton V10 anything for $2200 retail.   Sounds like you are able to buy wholesale?    Same with diesels.  In metro Milwaukee, the $6500 Cummins trucks are worn out junk or close to it.

The cummins I looked at for $6500 was a mess with way to many issues.  It is what it is, I reached what i felt was a good deal and got it at under blue book.  It was definetly more than $2200.  If I find a good cummins for $6500 or less I would buy it and sell the V10, but I have been looking for a couple of months and this was the best deal I found.

Prices on the older diesels are high.    A buddy recently bought a clean but not perfect '97 2500 4 x 4 to replace his '94.   He wanted the older design engine.   He had to travel to get it and paid within a few hundred bucks of what he paid for the '94 EIGHT years ago.   Talk about holding value.

They are awesome trucks  we finally retired our 97 delivery truck with over 700 k miles on it .
Motor still ran great.  We had just run the wheels off the body .   I still got  2 k  out of just the used motor .
