Very nice!  Someone's getting a good deal on this.

Don't know, but the column shift sure adds to the sleeper effect doesn't it  :coolgleamA:. Its already got the sleeper color.

Sleeper angle is left a little in doubt with those Hemi badges still there :Twocents:

I dont think any 2nd gen charger can be a sleeper , they just look sleek and fast   :icon_smile_big:

The 318 ones can't even pretend to be sleepers.
You order the column shift so you can keep your arm wrapped around your girl of course.

Probably the same person that checked off my salesbank 440 R/T car column shift (with no buddy seat either-just the carpet hump).  I love it that way :Twocents:

And then once you're married you swap it for a console.   :D

I have to say that I wouldn't mind the buddy seat with armrest at all but the console looks better.  Now I have an armrest on the console I think I found a good middle ground.

I actually like the color. A set of 15" Rallye's or Magnum wheels will make it POP.  :Twocents: :Twocents:  It stands out because its so understated. I think its Cool.

Indygenerallee

Idk, I am glad a true 70 Hemi Charger was put back to it's original state but God that color is horrendous! just my  :Twocents:
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

moparstuart

i dont mind the color but if you had to have a buddy seat then get a manual trans ,  hell I would have demanded a pistol grip in all my 70 models  :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

I don't know if the same owner has it as a few years ago.  My buddy Tom owned that car 10 years ago, he sold it to someone & Bill Weimann ended up with it.  The whine-y big mouth from Seattle got a smokin' price from Weimann.

I don't know if the same person owns it.  But at a show back in '07 our cars were parked next to each other in the Hemi class.  As everybody walked between the cars to vote he'd tell everyone mine was a clone & his was the real deal, like it was suppose to sway votes.  My envelope was stuffed, his was still flat.  I crushed him.

Vainglory, Esq.

That's a color that, on paper, I'd say I'd hate. But looking at this car, I actually kinda love it. Who knew?

surmanajaja

why not? I love it, if I had the money I would buy it and put 17x8 black steel wheels on it and drive it everywhere. its not NOM so no need to baby the engine.

Seems like short money for a genuine second gen Hemi Charger to me. The color and NOM are hurting the value, no question, but a turn key Hemi 2nd gen for that price? Haven't seen that for the past 10 years!

charger_fan_4ever

It even has Govier(tybol man) papers that should be worth 5k by itself  :D
Not a brown fan, but i'm liking it on this car. Column shift and all.

nh_mopar_fan

No console and not a big brown fan. But a 70 Hemi car?

Oh yeah....  :drool5:

in ebay the seller says hes owned it for over 5 years. so I guess he/his friend bought the car to not lose it?

In those auctions the seller can purchase their own car to keep from losing their shirt. So, it could have technically "sold" at auction yet still be owned by the same guy. He would have only had to pay one side of the commissions to keep it.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

charger_fan_4ever

I thought $70k was a decent asking price yet all the bidders at auction were only willing to go 57k. Very interesting.

F8-4life

Jeez, how could anyone check off the hemi box, but pass over all the great high impact colors and end up with brown.

472 R/T SE

Here's a couple pix of it that Tom got when he bought it.  Like most cars', he's buys them sight unseen.

It doesn't matter if it's correct for the year or not, the first thing he does is put chrome Magnums on them.

Was brown really popular in the 70s? my 73 (aussie) charger was factory brown (albeit brown metal flake).

myk

Sure it was, just like that vomit-like sea-foamish green that appears on many cars of that period.  There were all kinds of nasty colors back then...

69finder

Still tons better than the lack of colours now.  Every car is the same boring non-colour (white/silver/grey).

charger Downunder

I like it i would at least paint the jack base grey.
