I bought this 'beauty'.  Real deal R/T that needs a little buffing.

It's a factory AC, cruise control, customer ordered car.  Tinted green glass, blue/light blue with blue interior.  White tail stripe.

charger_fan_4ever

I'm done with the AMD catalog on mine.

I'll pass it over to you.

Say did you pick it up in western canada ?

myk

Oh yeah I uh...see the green tinted glass, lol.  Good luck with the project!

Hope you got an extra $30k laying around and a lot of time on your hands....double that if you plan on someone else doing the work.

Make it mechanically sound and drive it like that. :2thumbs: That would be Kool.

Let's play a game! How many different colors do you see on that 68? Just for fun of course, good luck with the rebuild.

That car wouldn't come close to passing a state inspection up here. Hopefully the frame rails and underside are in better shape.

That's what I call a parts car! Better have lots of $$$$ and lots of time!!!
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

charger_fan_4ever

I've seen non r/t's in as bad or worse shape restored, so get cuttin lol.

Seems if you want a 2nd generation r/t done "right" its gonna cost big $$ whether you build it from the ground up, or buy a turn key car done right. Either way is lots of dough.

69finder

RAT ROD it is!  :)  I bought another car for it's mechanical bits but mostly to learn more about American cars (as you can see all the other cars are VW/Audi).

I could easily 'quarter' it and that would fix most of it's problems.  But then again, I could just leave it as is!  There's probably a few months of work just to get it safe and driving.

It has very little rust.  Really :)  Except of course where the damage is and where it was 'fixed'.  The floors are great, the front (doors forward is almost 'perfect').  The underneath is really good except someone 'borrowed' the original rear end and it has a 8 3/4 (3 springs) now.

Also, I live in Edmonton, Alberta.  It's the same latitude as Moscow, Russia.  It's very remote.  Cars are more expensive here than almost anywhere in Canada.  And I've looked for Chargers (a bit) for the lat 4-5 years.  My barn find 69 was a great deal.  This one wasn't.  But I don't care, the money in my bank wasn't doing anything and this is alot of fun to look at!  Even in it's current shape, people come and look and say to me (amonst other things)...

"I THOUGHT you were a smart guy, but after seeing this, I don't think so!"  (That's priceless).

I plan to call it 'Humble Bee' :)

Only a classic muscle can still look badass on the road looking all tired and rusted vs new cars.

I thinks some of it's dents have dents!   :icon_smile_big:

But I have to agree with other posters, I'd drive this, dents and all, before I'd drive, say, a new camry.....

I drove my charger around for 4 years with rusted out quarters and stuffing flying out of the back seat, and towels shoved into the front seat and cheap fuzzy seat covers.  It was missing some of the grill chrome and most of the emblems, but I got soooo many compliments and stares and offers to buy it, offers to sell me an engine for it, and people jsut generally giving me thumbs up.

I had one guy follow me down an on ramp and pull up next to me and yell, "hey I've been following you a while, your car sounds great!" and give me thumbs up, then take the next exit.    :yesnod:   ;D

Somebody's been racing that car on a dirt speedway,  sure wish it was me!
