Just had my Carter 4426 rebuilt by Harms, Inc (photos!)

I had Scott rebuild a 4426 for my '68 that I had picked up a few years ago at a swap meet. I had always intended using it to replace the current Carter 4401 (A/T) that the previous owner used in lieu of the correct 4426 for a 4-speed car. With the 4401 crapping out I had asked Scott if he could get the 4426 back to me by the first of April so I could try to make it to MATS with the '68. This is about half of his normal turn around time. Amazingly enough, he did! I've attached some before and after photos of the carb. Scott said it ran just fine on his test stand engine and when I get it installed and under a load it may need a linkage or two adjusted.

Once it is installed I'll add a few more words and photos. Thanks again, Scott. If it runs half a good as it looks you did well.

$399.00 for a 4-barrel. Considering what it would cost me in materials and time to get it fully operational, never minding the appearance, I consider it money well spent.

Got the carb installed today. Took about 30 minutes to swap it in. A few pumps on the go pedal, about 10 seconds of cranking and she fired right up.   
She settled down to an idle right away. I took her out for a spin and was impressed with the throttle response (got 'er up to 85 in third on the expressway and then coasted) and lack of backfire on deceleration. I need to up the idle speed a hundred revs or so and I'll be good to go. I'm very happy with Scotts work.    I've attached a vid http://youtu.be/oWfk3lUgIqc to inspire the troops.
