how rare are real 1970 charger 500s? there is one sitting right around the corner from me rusting away under a tree

Not to rare. The 500 became a just another trim level for the Charger in '70.


Let me guess..........the owner is 'gonna fix'er up one day'?

Here's one for sale 3 hours north of me:





For sale is a 1970 Dodge Charger 500 Hardtop. The car was restored 7 years ago and has had many updates and additions since. It was originally a 383 2bbl car and I still have the original 383 #'s matching engine for it. Currently the car has:

-383 Stroker V-8 with a 4bbl Edelbrock carb @ 425 h.p.
-3-speed automatic with an upgraded tourque converter
-8 3/4 sure grip rear axle w/3.23. gears
-Air Conditioning (was working before I put the engine in. Still have all the parts, but needs reassembled and recharged)
-Power steering
-Power front disc rear drum brakes
-Bucket seats
-Center console w/floor shifter
-Woodgrain steering wheel
-Magnum 500 chrome mags
-Vinyl top
-AM Radio
-Tic Toc Tach
-Dual Exhaust

Thats crazy to still see them sitting out like that. Great pics! I even dig the brown paint job on the second one but 33.9 is too much for an L code.

i havnt knocked on their door yet. i dont feel as bad knowing now that its not super rare. the sign in the car is really big and its out in the middle of nowhere....... not gonna lie..... a little scared.....lol

Few years back I came across 4 E body Barracudas WAY out in the country and I stopped and asked the guy about them (he had a 73 Mach 1 he was driving!  :shruggy:) He told me he was going to fix them up!! Funny part was he did not look like he had enough money to get out of town plus he had no garage!??? shame.....
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

I really hate these "gonna fix it up someday" losers. They are probably failures in life and enjoy the only form of power that they can achieve: Saying NO to people that want to buy the car.

Surprised someone hasn't started picking it clean.  That rear finish panel is worth some $$.


That brown car used to be owned by a disabled gentleman.  It was one of the 1st Charger of the Month's @ the Registry.
