I know Rich, I have not seen him in quite some time, and he has not been around the local shows for several years. I know he was working on a 70 Dart 340= that was crushed when his garage roof caved in due to heavy snow.....have not seen him since. He used to live in Monmouth, just north of Lewiston, again, Im not sure that he is still there

O K  I just checked craigslist, and found an add for "MOPAR A BODY PARTS" and the location is Monmouth, Maine...here is the number from that add = 207 740 5539. If this is not Rich, Im sure the seller has direct knowlege of Rich = Monmouth is quite a small town, and Mopar guys are pretty familiar with him.

I dealt with him... once.
Not here to bad mouth anyone but let's just say my dealings with him were less than stellar.  :rotz:

I have a PO Box address for him still, I will send that to you in a PM.
Good luck!

Thanks guys.

He cashed my check March 23 for some seatbelts he listed on the classifieds here. Couldn't come up with pics, but offered a money back guarantee. Since then I've had a couple excuses as to why they hadn't shipped, but now I'm not getting any responses back.

Should have known better i guess as all his few posts are in the classifieds. He last logged in the day I sent him a pm asking about tracking info.

I'll give that number a ring and see who answers.

So someone answered today, but no Richard at that number. No replies to the last two emails I sent on the weekend. Last email I received was April 20. I even paid more than his asking price as his price was shipped and i knew it would be more to ship to Canada. :brickwall:

Guess I'll call my bank and see if they can do anything which i doubt. I did write in the memo section of the check seat belts. Glad it was only $60, but still does not set well with me being ripped off.

Last time I  knew, He lived in Monmouth...but he did at one time live in Augusta. I tried 411 and the only Richard Brann  listed are in West Gardiner , or Augusta. I called the Augusta # - not the right guy. I will contact a few guys in the area , and see if I can track him down for you. I have had a couple of deals with him @ 12 - 15 years ago, and never had an issue. hope you can get things resolved with him

Well, I talked to a few local Mopar guys today....Without going into details = because it is hearsay, It does not look too good. :brickwall: One guy even said that he may be not even be living in this state anymore. Further speculation is that it maybe his brother is the one that is selling Rich's parts. I also called the craigslist number = not Rich , and I asked him if he was Rich's brother  = he said no, and went on to say un-kind things about his dealings with Rich as well. He then said that he had heard that Rich moved to South Carolina :shruggy: I also found his facebook page , but there is not too much resent activity

Sorry dude, this sucks, cause when I knew him years ago, he was a pretty good guy, And I was hoping for the both of you = that there was some reasonable explaination..... but after the things I heard today, you may have to take some sort of legal action...I wish you best in getting things resolved

He accepted  my friend request instantly on facebook, so I sent another email to both his contact address and not a word. Wonder what all his friends will think when they read what i posted on his wall.

Got his cell # off fbook and called it but its off.

Too bad there is no classified rating that can be left for members, so others won't fall into the same situation.

Indygenerallee

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

c00nhunterjoe

This is the exact reason I only buy parts from people I can meet in person. I have had to pass on several good deals but I have been burned a few times on car parts and train stuff. Even with paypal I got screwed, never again. If I can't pick it up then I won't buy it, no matter how bad I need it

Brock Lee

Huh. I looked at his Facebook and he is friends with one of my cousins.

Huh. I looked at his Facebook and he is friends with one of my cousins.

Oh  :popcrn:

I usually only use paypal and even then I put it threw mastercard. I had a couple scammers in the 100's of transactions i've done. Paypal wouldn't do anything, but since i paid threw MC i called them directly. MC reveresed the charges both times after I faxed the emails I sent as they never came up with proof of anything on the sellers end. In that case they automatically reverse the charges.

If you pay with the money in your paypal account and even if paypal favors on your side if the seller does not have the funds in his paypal account(ie he already cleaned it out) your screwed.

Brock Lee

I will inquire and see if my cousin can tell me anything.

charger_fan_4ever

Either he has got rid of his facebook account or has me blocked. No longer friends anymore  :scratchchin:

charger_fan_4ever

As expected the bank can't do anything. they sugested contacting the police I'm wondering should I call the local police in Maine or my local police ?

Never had to do this before, so i'm a little green.

As a general rule I never send a check or money order always credit card through paypal. I guess this troll is willing to be dragged through the mud over $60. Pretty sad when you ruin your name/reputation for the price of dinner and a movie.

Sorry to hear that you are still not getting through, what a POS move = ducking your attempts to get it resolved...and like you said, just letting his rep get trashed all for the price of a full tank of gas :brickwall: :rotz: :rotz: You should contact the Kennebec County Sheriffs dept.  and let them know that you believe that you are not the only person that may be the victim of this ruse..maybe even send them a link to this thread...I realize that its only 60 bucks ....but how many times has this happened? again good luck, and if I hear anything else I will be sure to pass it along

I sent an email to both his accounts through a different email address with a link to this thread. I got the answer the parts will be shipped Friday. I will be sure to post the results.

Week later and guess what contact stopped again.

Contact the attorney general in the state where you sent the money explaining the fraud that was committed along with copies of any supporting documents. Then get a message to him that the attorney general has been notified of the situation and that they will probably be in contact with him soon...(even though they may not)  I've had to do that a few times and it always surprises me how fast they can come up with either the parts or a refund of your money.

I had contacted the local police department in his town and advised him of that. After two weeks of no contact he was quick to respond and was going to send them out that week. Now gone back into hiding. This week i will let the Sherrifs department know he didn't follow through and will get in touch with the attorney generals office.

Perhaps we should start a thread with recommendations for people who have done good business above board and done a good job, and make that sticky?

I recently bought a pair of '68 buckets from a member here named moparsal (he has a for-sale thread called 'two chargers on long island') and even though I knew I was taking a bit of a risk not knowing the guy (especially since the price for the condition was really good), he sent them quickly, in the the as-advertised condition.  Also, when he pulled them from storage one wasn't up to snuff, so instead of just sending me foam he sent me a whole separate seat from another car to make sure everything was as advertised.

So for what its worth, I had a good experience with this guy and would do business with him again.

[ŌŌ]ƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖƖ[ŌŌ] = 68

I made a post in the site suggestions section about having a seller/buyer reputation board or Itrader ratings for deals done on the board. Didn't go far.

Attorney General has been contacted and I also let the sheriffs department know the friday shipping date over a week ago was missed and he has gone  back into hiding.

Forwarded on one of the responses from the Attorney generals office and magically 2 emails back the same day saying now they are going out today and another email saying that i was good and creating fake emails. Was a pleasure to tell him it was not fabricated and provided him with the Att General's phone # and told him to go ahead and call I'm sure they would love to hear from him.

I'm not holding my breath this is atleast the 5th time that they were being shipped out and i was getting tracking info. ::)

EDIT: I don't believe it I received a tracking number that seems to jive.

For any future buyers read the whole thread. I had to jump through hoops and believe I would not have gotten the parts hadn't I contacted the Attorney general.

It took me forwarding the email from the attorney general to Brann to get him to finally do something after 2 months of excuses.

I had one very similar to this. I don't remember the guys name but I could probably go back and find it in my email. It wasn't a very expensive part, less than $10 but the guy never sent it. After about a month I sent maybe 6 emails to him asking about the parts within a 2 week timeframe and he never replied to a single one of them. Then I turned right around and sent him one telling him that I had contacted the attorney general in his state, I think it was new jersey, and he immediatley replied "You would contact the attorney general over an $8 part?" I sent back "Already did and I suggest you get the parts shipped ASAP". I got them in a few days.

That small amount of money isn't going to make or break me but damn I hate a theif.
