Hey guys I got a set of these 18x8 wheels, Im going to put smaller rubber on the front but I want to stuff the rear factory wheel wells full of rubber. Has anyone accomplished this? thanks

The widest tire I've seen on a 2nd gen without modification was 325 wide.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

My guess is that an 8 inch wheel will be too narrow for the rear. I have 18x9s up front and 18x10s in the rear of My '70. The wheel tubs are stock and there is room in the back for more than the 295-45 size I run now.
The 8 inch wheel limits tire width to about a 285-50, if there is a tire in that size. With lower profile tires, you have less wiggle room in using a tire that is wider than ideal. Tires that are too wide for the rim make the wheels look like buttons on a thick fur coat.
