Hi,
I'm going to present my new car. A Charger 68 found here in the topic for sale.
First, Thanks the seller because I'm french and I Know it's not easy for you because of a lot of miles from state of OHIO to France, the langage, the fund transfert, the truck in ... so thanks a lot
Today the charger is on ouest coast Laguna Beach California, it's going to take the boat next week and may arrive in 6 weeks in France.

charger Vin XP29F8B1824...and now it's a 440ci.
it's not clean because of 2300 miles on a trailer to across the USA.

What do you think about it ?

looks good! hope u will be happy with it. I was considering it myself but truthfully, seeing as he was selling it before (last year I think) and changed his mind, and that "reply to emails in order" -stuff made me think twice. I mean, if youre selling a car, it should be sold to the person 1st on your door money on hand.

by the way, when I saw the title of the thread, I thought its about the car in the movie, "blue velvet". wonder what happened to that car? pabst blue ribbon! :smilielol:

Yes it's that one, I'm sure that I'm very lucky.
Now I'm eager to drive it.

To Find a Charger in France is very difficult because of a few number.
I have more chance to find one in USA, on Craigslist for example but with 15K for a 68 rust free it's a real challenge
When I started my research, I found this forum and I'm suscrib to have some advice
and I have a friend who live in California who is a goodies seller. So it's easy for me to import a car in France

Congratulations!
That is a nice car and well worth the money.   I'm surprised it took so long to sell.   Enjoy it.

It was in sale last year but : For sale or not for sale ...
it's a nice car which was maybe cause of the hesitation of the seller ?

Transport inside USA between $950 and $1300. it's depend of the company and the type of trailer ( open or closed trailer)

Shipping from LA to Netherland port is 1650 euros

To import a car in France , need to pay
Manufacturer's Certificate (140 euros),
technical control (60 euros) ,
title (32 fiscal horse power at 45 euros = 1440, 1440/2= 720 euros because of the age of the car more 10 years)
fee and Tax customs (755 euros) , ...
Oh yes, I forgot the Value Added Tax 7% on the car and shipping.

74bluecharger440

okay third time trying to say this  ..  only the emoticons show up..the stuff in  the trunk, rim and brake drum.  I would worry about them getting slammed around and denting the fender wells from the inside.

1974dodgecharger

Sweet dude your gonna have to update us more on this and WOW its cheaper than I thought to ship overseas where you going add in shipping and the car total I say DEAL  :2thumbs:

ok its cheaper to bring it there. to bring an old car to finland, have to pay customs 30% of the price of the car+freight to finland. tax 100-400 euros and some other smaller payments. but if I buy it from europe (EU)then no customs charge...

for a late model like 2007 mustang or charger the taxes would be 15-20 000 euros..

If the car gets into some rough water in its shipping container,  are you not worried that the rim and brake drum might bounce around in the trunk and dent the rear quarter panel?? Nice  ride

Fred

That would certainly concern me.  :yesnod:

dang, thats true. i didnt even think about that. i would have someone either package them up, or bolt them both down where the spare bolts at.  a quick zip tie even would hold them in place. :2thumbs:
