only difference in fire walls is air vs. non air.

There is a plate with two studs welded to it that is attached to the firewall on the engine side to the left of the brake attachment bolts.  The studs project through the firewall to the inside of the car and are the fastening point for the clutch pedal bracket assembly.  Automatic cars don't have this bracket and are not drilled for the two studs.  Several places sell the plate/stud piece.  It was spot welded to the firewall from the factory.  You would have to drill the firewall for the two studs.  Don't see any reason to spot weld it.  This is my understanding.  If I'am wrong, I invite corrections.

Thank you to all , My car started out as an 70 Charger with manual drum brakes and did have that plate installed from factory and my car was orig an auto trans .  My only question was that the hole was out of alignment with pedal and I was told the rod has an offest , does anyone have a pic of this rod ?

Which way does the kink in the push rod go? Any pictures ?

Mine is kinked toward the passenger side and looks wrong, FSM doesn't have enough detail.

Thanks.
