I'm picking up a set of slot mags this weekend.  They are in good shape and will need some polish.  But is was thinking.....can I get them CNC machined?  Has anybody ever had this done with slot mags?  Any safety issues?

Why do you want to machine them? You said they are in good condition. Just polish them up

I'll probably start to polish one and see how long it takes and how they look.  These wheels are in good shape as far as structure but they need lots of polish to look good.  I think I prefer the looks of a machined wheel rather than polished.

You need to use sandpaper and progressively go up to a finer grade until the imperfection are gone. You can even continue up to compound if you want a high gloss finish. Otherwise the sanding scratches will give it a machined finish look
