Dug out my rain gear last night, anyone else going to Jefferson WI swap meet this weekend?
My first Charger was a Stock Car.

PocketThunder

I was supposed to but cub scouts campout and little league put my trip on the back burner.   I've been there in the rain before and it was not fun.   :-\

Rain, mud, snow, wind, dust, rusty Camaro parts dug out of rivers and streams...  it's all part of the Jefferson experience.

TruckDriver

I have never been to one yet  :P

My Dad taught me about TIME TRAVEL.

I might make an appearance.

Jefferson = Rain, lawn mowers and the Big Bar Ice cream
I have been vending there for years and have used hip boots to walk around in the past
but usually my 15's with five buckle overshoes and an umbrella get the job done.
Some years they have used the big tractors to get people out, but they are always improving the grounds
so it is getting better.  But we still use a 20X30 tent on half our spot WA141-146 along the fence.

I always bring my high water boots.  From the discussion, it sounds as if there has been some heavy rain.  Is there already standing water on the ground?

Yeah I know what you mean.  It is more therapeutic than anything for me :2thumbs:

Growing up in this unpredictable state for weather and going to Jefferson for years, it wouldnt feel right if the above comments didnt come true this year as well. I hardly ever see MOPAR parts usually chevy stuff, who knows maybe this year will be diffrent.

bull

Do they sell Mopar stuff at the swap meets over there? Must be nice.

RiverRaider

It only rained on Saturday! And not as much as forcasted a little muddy on Sunday.
Not a lot of Mopar guys selling parts but the ones there had some cool stuff.  One row
over from our spot a guy had and STR sixpack setup and a trailer load of 1969 charger
parts including a complete grill.  Another guy had a really nice 73 challenger fender and
other stuff and he said he saw a rebuilt Hemi 4spd on the grounds for a little over eight.
I didn't have much time to shop too far from the spot to check on that, but I did find a
door for my '96 plowtruck for $75 some 70 headlight doors and a great deal on a SFI flywheel.
Prices for parts were all over, some deals and some crazy high (most of those crazy prices were non
Mopar guys selling mopar parts).  A lot of good stuff was under cover because of the rain
so you had to ask vendors about what they had.  At Jefferson it seems like a lot of vendors
hold good stuff back on Friday to put out on Saturday.
Overall a good time.

Saturday must have been pretty brutal with the weather.

Saturday must have been pretty brutal with the weather.

The forecast was horrible but it ended up being pretty decent.  A little rain around noon.  I was pretty comfortable relative to other years.  Not much Mopar stuff.  I should have looked harder at the single plane 440 intake modified for FI.  I probably would have bought that white Torino GT if I didn't have to leave on short notice around 1:00.  Found a pair of  new $280 16" slicks for $50.  And a scope for the kids .22 for $5.

I'm just wondering do you guys that attend seem to enjoy the spring jefferson better than the fall or in the fall does there seem to be better deals since guys are trying to sell parts before the snow flies? I usually dont go to the fall since like most the car season in WI is a month or so away from being over? :shruggy:

There is never enough Mopar stuff to make a difference one way or another.   The weather for both spring or fall can be bad.    Jefferson is Jefferson.

Spring Jefferson kicks off the car season for me so I enjoy that the most.  Some years Spring has better deals, other years it is Fall that is better.  If you are looking for a car, I think Fall is better because people don't want to store a car over the winter and they are dealing more.
