Ok I will tell you guys what have done and took off. I have a 1969 383 big block that had 2 barrel carb on it.It is a low compression engine I think 8 to 1 or 9 to 1. A budy came over today and let me have his engine stand for as long as i need it. So we pulled off the heads, timming chain and camshaft. Last weekend I took out oil pan,2barrel intake, waterpump, oil pump and distribator. All I have left in the engine is the crank shaft and pistons and the distribator gear pulled up so I could get camshaft out. When the heads were in I filled up the spark plug holes with P-B blast. It was sitting like that for four days soaking. One of the pistons looks like stuck a little rust. I tapped all pistons with 2x4 and tried to turn over with crankshaft bolt still no dice will not move. Was ware from about 1/8 in down all pistons so can not take pistons out from top unless i clean up ot hoan out a little. Can I take pistons out from crankcase side? Any sugestions on how to get to move thanks guys.

If you get it freed up you need a ridge cutter to get them out the top. If you remove the crank you should be able to remove them through the bottom.....if you can get them to move.

terrible one

I say remove the crank first then free them individually. It will be a lot easier this way vs. trying to break all 8 free at once by turning the crank. Plus, with crank out you won't have to cut the ridge out to remove them since they can drop out from crankcase side.

Agreed.

Take the caps off and remove the crank, than tap em out from the bottom.
