A smart person would have strong reservations about the car in question because it is only one picture, and like has already been said, many many clones are out there. I think everyone here is open minded enough to be receptive of more information that might prove it to be real. 

agreed, too many attention hounds have come on here spouting crap, and this car goes against what the director and fornda have both said, 3 cars used. It had a lot of evidence AGAINST it being real, and the fact that the owner doesn't want attention... too much doesn't add up... [sarcasim]hell, in 40 years when my car is rotted and behind a fence somewhere maybe we can all do this over again, my stripe is right, also damage in teh rear quarter and a bent bumper... who knows, maybe I have the 4th car! [/sarcasim]

Woa woa, I found it on FB and knowing nothing else about it posted here.  I'm a newcomer to DC.com and had no idea the history of this car or the debate it would spawn.

I don't think you were being singled out in any way, I think he meant more as an "in general" kind of thing.  I think everyone is probably excited about you bringing the car to our attention.

It is fun.  It's interesting to discuss things like this even if it gets a little heated sometimes.  It spices up the usual, "whats my car worth what color should I paint it dont you love GLs dont you hate the 06 where can I get a whachamacallit" threads.  (not that those aren't worthwhile too of course)

Oh absolutely... I think down deep everyone wants something portrayed as a rare find to be real but just like the XP hemi car, it's not supposed to exist and it's going to take more than one picture to convince everyone. Maybe a picture of the original title that was mentioned. 

One thing for sure, it brings up something to debate.

Hahah ok cool    I was being a bit of a tender butthole I reckon.  When I saw it I knew next to nothing about DMCL except I liked the movie and the car, never knew that there were any 'holy grail' theories out there about the movie cars, and have enjoyed the mystery of this thread.   I do think it sucks that noone can get any more details than what is there, I kind of figured the OP would grab more photos or at least respond.

On another note, someone get on Google Earth and see if they can pick it out.    Sort of like Where's Waldo.

this is not the movie car i owned this charger in 80s and early 90s i painted it that way it was orange originally but this car does have interesting history ide love to talk to the owner

From what's being said on FB , its one of those guy's that are going to fix it up one day , he has had it some 30 plus years and has a Pinkslip in 20 century fox name ,purchased it in 1977 at a auction  and he know's what he has .
