Interesting stuff, I had 71 Valiant Charger R/T 2bbl 3 speed that had been fitted with E49 spec motor, tripple webers and 4 speed and it had been sold as an genuine 49 at one stage by a previous owner years before I ever owned it I believe...Got to know what you are looking at and how to identify it or get someone that can
If you know what and where to look for the telltales you can save a lot of pain and $$$

Good site for info on the Z16 Dan too, your brother knows his stuff alright
learning as we go

Which is a good arguement for the 1968 Registry as well, it puts the relevant information in one place for referance purposes and gives a few clues for what to look for if a potential buyer is viewing

Trying to sell a clone high? Not surprizing.....

Surprizing? The number of people in the average public that get annoyed at someone making HUGE coin from the sale of said clones....

One cannot blame the SELLERS of these cars..They are common crooks just like Real estate sales people(Some sell sh*t knowing full and well it's someone's life savings), and used car salesmen....They are just trying to peel your wallet. IT's the BUYERS that need a swift kick in the balls for being that Blind/trusting/stupid, and having the balls to complain about being screwed afterwards. Lemme see, you bent over for the salesman, let him slide one right up your ass, then you want to say something like you can't believe he/she did that to you?
In this economy, people are out for blood(money). They don't care if your great Granny just died and left you the money your Grand pappy died for in the mines of W. Va. for ...They will rape you for it, laugh when you complain, then have the odasity to dance on your Granny's grave.

This is ALMOST as bad as watching/hearing bout the number of folks that get hosed from Bodyshops doing "Restos"...

In the interest of full disclosure Jeff is not my brother. He probably is related at least 5 or 6 generations back but my comment was just an humerous (at least in my mind) attempt to laud myself.  ;)  But yes another compelling reason to have a registry to fully vet these cars.  :yesnod:

Clearly, this one guy making the "Z16" had no clue whatsoever.

The one's that we are not hearing about are the ones that are scary - there are people who are just as unscrupulous as this guy who DO have a clue.
