If you are one of the people I have seen on here lamenting the fact that your Charger cannot carry your coffee cup for you, this may be a solution..
I was in a pick-n-pull today scavenging parts for my golf cart and in the same Kia Sportage I was robbing of its console, was this awesome recessed cupholder. It's pretty slick! Very thin, even if you're one of those anal numbers & options types this could go under your dash with a few sheetmetal "L" brackets. It can be removed in about 45 seconds with a pocket knife and Philips screwdriver. I grabbed two of them. Should I have posted this in the interior section?

Awesome, but I wonder how many folks with a concourse car that sees 8 miles per year on and off the trailer would even allow beverages in the car at all :P

Don't know, don't care!  I drive mine to work and I ain't going without coffee!

Alas I don't think it would fit easily under the dash, I don't think the cup holder would slide out far enough to accommodate a tall tumbler.  I'll have to look into though.

I honestly don't know. It was a Kia Sportage, and that's about as far as my knowledge goes.

Doc- Tall tumbler? Not happening. If you want to use a large size cup, you'll need to remove the flap that flips down as the tray slides out.

I figured as much but it would likely work with some mods.  I'm not discarding this option just yet, I think you have stumbled upon something that would work for a lot of people.   :2thumbs:

Found an armrest/cupholder/storage unit, black vinyl from a 92 Lincoln Mark 7 that fits perfectly over the stock floor console unit.  Sorry, did'nt mean to steal your thunder!! :icon_smile_big:

Why are you guys complicating this cup holder thing so much???

BP gas station sells window cup holders for like 75 cents, roll down the window, put them in the channel and BAM cup holder. When your done take it off and stash it in the glove box....its really not that difficult.

maybe people like to make it complicated for shts and giggles? I personally would do what you just said heck they got really fancy through the years and got some now that arent as flimsy either.  :2thumbs:

I have had several spill do to those hook on the window channel holders.  Not as many as setting cups and cans on the console.

Dude. That is such a lame solution it should be considered cheating. In fact, I believe it actually IS cheating. :D Who wants to see pics of that?  :shruggy: Step up your game, my friend! :P

LOL

Ill take some pics for you.

Im all for the cup holder thing, and ive seen another member make some very nice "hidden" cup holders (forgot who, but they were nice  :coolgleamA: )

But all in all, who really drives there car around with a cup of coffee or a can of soda? Id say most of us use bottles or if its an open container where probably not in motion.

tommymac

I put my coffee cup in the front left corner of the console just clear a space. And it just sits there. When your done just take out cup and shut lid.

ChgrSteve67

I use the plastic cup holders that hang on the door.
When I'm done I take it off and put it in the glove box.

71wrenchhead

i recently saw a really cool idea someone invented/came up with
something to do with putting whatever liquid you wish to consume at a later time into a re-sealable container....i think it was called a water bottle or something of the sort......................... :rotz:

Ha. All great ideas. I used to want a four speed. Now I don't and love my automatic. I steer with my left hand and sip with my right. No holders needed.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

Usually if I am going anywhere requiring a beverage, it is not a short trip.  So I bring my cupholder ... my wife!   :smilielol:

I prefer cup holders that don't nag me.  The plastic ones never say, slow down, why don't any of these cars have AC, I wish I had stayed home or why didn't we take the mini van :brickwall:

:popcrn:  both avalible on amazon  sturdy and easy to take out and throw in the trunk .  I love the one that slides down next to my console , use it all the time and it works great even with the 44 oz. heavy cup .
GO SELL CRAZY SOMEWHERE ELSE WE ARE ALL STOCKED UP HERE

I like those.  I see the chip holder at Sears but what were the other items you used to make that.
Yes sir ... I like it!
