Ok   few questions  ,   my charger is a canadian car  ,  Is my considered an export car  ,  am i to assume that if mopar produced say 100 chargers   then sent 10 to canada  and 5 to Sweden and 5 to England   does that mean 80 remained in U.S is final total   ,  or were the export cars produced above the U.S build   hope not confusing  ,,????? hemikev  :shruggy:

Probably not an 'export' car. Probably a 'built for sale in Canada' car.

Above...Typically when sales figures are cited you have the  'built for sale in the US' number and/or the total number. US, CA and export sales would be included in the total figure. That's why when you see or hear just a number quoted, you have to ask if the number being used is the 'for sale in the US' or 'total' number.

Canada sold and Export production numbers are generally not known.

80 built for US + 20 for CA and Export = 100 TOTAL.

Chrysler did not consider cars built for Canada as 'export cars'.

Export cars were ordered from overseas, even if ordered from a US service man for pickup on his return to the states.

Most of the quotes we see are sale percentage figures for US cars. Some Canadian numbers are also known.

I have never heard of any known sales percentage figures for export cars.

It is my understanding that the general rule of thumb is that production for Canada was roughly 10% of the number produced for US. How accurate this is I'm not sure. Example: 94 '74 360 HP 4 speeds were built for the US, so an estimated 9 were built for Canada, these 9 being seperate from the 94 built for the states. That being said if you take the total produced and subtract the number produced for US it should be slightly more than 10% to take into account the export cars if this rule of thumb was accurate. I crunched some of these numbers randomly and it appears to be the case.
