:2thumbs: I still don't care for the new Darts much  :brickwall: , but that is just cool, he's a heck of a rider, driver & stuntman, let's see if he can do as well as he did with the Subaru WRX, with the  :hah: New 600hp Dart

I guess the Dart is officially going after the Focus/Impreza/Evolution market.

which would be cool if the production model came with an AWD option...but its only going to be FWD. I dig the styling tho...

There's no AWD Focus either. Not sure about the Evo.

I like this one quote from the Jalopnik link: "We're big fans of rallycross, and we're big fans of American car manufacturers facing off in racing that involves regularly turning both left and right."

The Evo does, and there are some "performance" models of the Focus. I hope that they at least come out with a SRT-4/6 Dart so that it can at least live up to some of the hype generated by the Rally version. I'd buy one.

Well, I stand corrected. I was just looking through Allpar and it says that a) there will be an AWD model and b) an SRT is in the works.

I'm pretty excited about this because I will more than likely have to sell the '08 Charger in the next few months (due to some life changing circumstances - no, not having a kid) for something thats cheaper to own / maintain. I may just hold out and see what these are going to be like. My other options are either a FIAT 500 OR a bike + a beater (for when the bike is not an option).

Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

So, the dart is replacing the neon?

no, the misunderstood Caliber replaced the Neon. I'm not sure if the Dart is supposed to be the next in line for that or if its replacing the baby Charger (Avenger).

:scratchchin: If they can match the base model Focus for mpg we will have a winner.

Give the AWD version of the car a pronounced rear-wheel torque bias, and I might be interested.

That's not going to happen on one of these dinky cars.
