TUFCAT

What's the best hotel to book?  I'm considering making the trip.

74bluecharger440

you guys will love it  :2thumbs:, i go almost every year and it gets bigger each year

Dodge Don

3rd largest Mopar show behind Mopar Nationals and Carlisle...but it was absolutely packed last year. They have outgrown the facilities and need to move to a bigger venue like Mosport.

lexxman

If you go you'll have a great time. A ton of cool cars and great vendors. :2thumbs:

RIDELIKEHELL

I'll be there...They do seem to be outgrowing the venue.  I've been going for a handfull of years now and every year it's been getting bigger and bigger.  Mosport would be an awesome location.  Closer to where I live by a couple of hours and it's got the track.

71green go

I love it where it is!....20 mins from me and my buddy lives across the street from it and no parking problems for me..
and yes its getting big......I have been going long before it moved to New Hamburg

RIDELIKEHELL

This year won't be a parking problem as I will be driving my 68....fingers crossed! The push is on!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wish they would change the date. It's always on the same weekend as The Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise. Ten times as many rare Mopars there and they are all driving and doing burnouts. If the date was changed, there would be lots more cars at Moparfest.

I have it to do on my bucket list someday.
its only 2600 miles in one direction for me.

Maybe this and the Woodward dream cruise one of these years.

TUFCAT

I'm thinking about driving my car there. Its a 4 hour trip.

Can anybody give me some insider info on where to stay, best way to get in, where to park , etc.  Any info would be very much appreciated!  :2thumbs:

Everyone is always lined up along the highway to turn right into town.  Coming from the east (like most cars) go past the lineup and turn right at the next street.  Turn right again and head for the north end of the fairgrounds.  There are 2 gates that will let you in.  I've seen more than one car overheat while idleing that long.  As for where to stay.  Everyone seems to talk about Kitchener/Waterloo, but maybe look at Stratford (further west).  It's only about 10-15 mins away with loads of hotels.

Don't see a date in this thread anywhere?  Is it the same weekend as the Woodward Cruise again?   :shruggy:
Tomorrow is promised to NOBODY . . . .

Moparfest August 18 - 19. Silly that is same dates as Woodward.

I would have thought the Woodward Dream Cruise would be a traffic jam of over heating muscle cars but the vids I've looked at so far it doesn't appear that packed. Never been...what is it like?

I go every year. Yes it can be a traffic jam on during of the official day (Saturday). It is the only time I ever saw my car running hot although it never overheated. Woodward is so big now that it actually runs a full week and there is lots of room to run on the other days. A lot of guys park on the sides of the street Saturday and cruise the other days. Last I heard there is 40,000 cars from all states and provinces and more than 1,500,000 spectators from all over the world. Every rare car you can think of goes there. You want to see an original Super Stock Hemi Dart. You will see it.

We go every year.  The wife is himming and hayying this year because of the price of gas, but I think it we'll end up going. About 4 hours for us as well.
It is alot of fun.
And it has always been same weekend Woodward.  I glad Woodward isn't closer or I'd have a tough decision to make.   :scratchchin:

I'm tired of Woodward. Its no fun for me anymore even though I've always had a great place to park.

Well, we drove in right behind you at Carlisle last year but still managed to miss you inside somehow.
Maybe we can park near each other this year at MopeFest.  I like the organization of Carlisle but occasionally it is nice to just park with your friends and at MopeFest you do. You have to get there at the same time though.
But, just a great show.

RIDELIKEHELL

We all have to meet up  I am hoping to park beside Dodge Don and his sweet 1970 RT/SE

All we have to do is arrange to meet somewhere and cruise in as a group I suppose.

74bluecharger440

I've got reservations at the Hampton inn. the one on the moparfest site that offers a discounted rate. Bringing my 2 boys and I'm pretty sure the 11 year old is going to want to go swimming in the pool after the day.
