Pretty cool but the General Lee still did that before the Olds! 2nd season "Arrest Jesse Duke" they had a "off road" modified General Lee (big tires and lifted) Someone should really do that race in a "General Lee"  :icon_smile_big: modded 6.1 Hemi, full coilovers, independent rear suspension, Viper rear diff,  :D
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

That stuff was sorta hip in the SoCal desert when I was a kid in the late 70's. I recall a late model El Camino and a Nova in Apple Valley, a fella from Palm Springs with what must have been a low buck Rolls Royce at one of the local car shows, and a lot of unfinished projects in peoples side yards. The young Airmen at Nellis AFB in Vegas were part of it too. I seem to recall a Dodge 4x4 van modified w/ some sort of an external rollcage.
Chargers are cool but rockets rule......

HOLY CRAP THE DUKES OF HAZZARD DID??? I didn't know dukes of HAZZARD was filmed before 1970 when this car was raced. They just rebuilt the orignal race car from 1970. Dang I didn't know that show went back that far and the way its talked about on this site it was the second coming of Christ. ::)

Yep, I love DOH but they didn't exactly start the trend of off-road cars in the 1970s/80s.

People doing that stuff with cars since the beginning of auto racing, in one way or another.
