Well Fella's, I'm hard at it at the moment. A neighbour a few houses along has just had 2 huge atlantic red cedars cut down. He can't use the wood so he's offered it to me.
Just getting it all home at the moment. Then..........plenty of chopping. Axe is sharp and ready!
(in case you're wondering............I've stopped for a coffee break. The good wife insisted)

Hey Chryco, it's manual labour that keeps a body fit. My six pack would be long gone if I used tools like that.

Nice score but that kills me to see it cut up for firewood. There was enough lumber there to make a full bedroom set...

Yeah I know what you mean. I asked him what he was going to do with it if I didn't take it and he said have a bonfire in the back yard. What a waist plus I can't imagine how big a fire or how long it was going to have to burn for till it was all gone. At least I'm using it for fire wood. It will keep us warm for quite a while.

Apart from me halving them in order to lift them, that's how they came.

We get our 4 seasons here but no snow. And with the changing weather patterns our winter's are not as mild as they were only a few years ago. So we do heat in winter.

Hey Guys,
I honestly enjoy the work. It gives me a good work out and while I'm still fit enough to manage it I'm happy to keep at it.  :2thumbs:
That stash is about 3 winter's worth.
